KSC vs KJW M9A1

Hi, i'm thinking about buying a new pistol and after a few days i decided to go with the beretta M9A1. i would like it to be full metal and these 2 seem to be the best choice, i couldn't find any helpful review so if you guys have owned one of them or know more than i do about this model (other brands too) please feel free to post!

KSC doesn't make a full metal M9

However, I've held both the KSC and KJW M9... and in all honesty, the plastic KSC M9 feels better than the metal KJW one.

I cannot recall where I read it, so unfortunetly I cannot provide a source but I do believe KJW beretta series guns are clones of KSC and not that of TM. I have never owned a KSC M9, but I have owned one of their glock series and it was of great quality and lasted a very long time. I do however currently own a KJ M9 Elite model which for the most part does a satifsfactory job performance wise.

Well I can tell from mags,

A TM mag will cycle a KJW
A KJW Mag will cycle a TM

KSC is different than both of 'em

As for that full metal KSC M9... It looks like just the slide is metal... Apparently KSC has been doing that recently.

You are indeed very much correct, KJ and TM can cycle each others mags and small components are compatible as well. I had thought of this as I was typing my initial post and probly should have inlcluded what you had stated as well.

Purchase whatever one you can aquire the gas for easiest, personally I would go with the regular green gas pistol, as in the long run green gas will be cheaper to aquire if you simply purchase a propane adapter.

Both pistols should be full metal, both slide and frame, atleast that is what my experience with KJ works has taught me.

I have a KJW M9 Elite IA and it's served me very well. Shoots straight and hard, but not too hard. Nice blowback. Feels good in the hand too, nothing beats full metal for feel.

Alot of people claim they're gas hogs but with good mags I can get two to two and a half mags of ammo for one mags worth of gas in warm weather. Even on a pretty cold day and rapid fire I can always get through at least a full mags worth of ammo. It rattles alittle between the slide and the frame and a tiny bit with the mag in the well but that's inherent in a full metal gun.

There are only two negatives I've found with this gun. First, the mags are alittle fincky. This isn't really a problem if you take care of them but it is a bit of a pain in buying second-hand mags. The second, which probably isn't unique to this gun, is the mag catch is one of the few parts that isn't metal. It'll wear down over time where it holds the mag into the well. At first this will just cause alittle wasted gas due to a less then perfect seal, you'll hardly notice it's so little. But eventually the nub that holds the mag will become rounded enough that the jolt from the blow back will cause the mag to slip off the nub and fall out. This takes quite a while but will eventually happen. A makeshift fix to this, since the gun is made to be ambidextrous you can switch it to left handed which uses the other edge of the catch. You can easily order a new plastic catch for $4. I currently have on order a steel catch ($12) that is made for TM's but I've been informed will work on a KJW. I'll update this when it arrives.

Oh, and in terms of gas type, go with green gas (aka propane). It's cheaper (with the purchase of a propane adaptor) and has less hassle. Mags are easier to get too.
