G36 firing issue.
For some reason, my G36 seized up on me today. You know how AEGs sometimes seize when you're shooting in Semi, and switching to Auto and firing a burst corrects the problem? Well it's almost like the exact same thing, except switching to Auto doesn't fix the issue. When I pull the trigger, it sounds like it's trying to do something, but it won't, so I'm thinking maybe it's a seized gear or the Piston is stuck for some reason, but I'm not a Gun-doc, so I can't tell yet.
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Maybe the selector is screwy...it doesn't seem to be clicking into place when it moves, so that might be it, but like I said, no Medical Degree here! Any help is appreciated.

This may sound dumb but have you tried a fresh battery?

It was Tokyo Marui...I heavily upgraded it, but it was working like hot sex before this. And yeah, the battery was good. Charged it up just last night and it couldn't have powered more than a thousand shots. I put it on a discharger and it's still going after about a half hour. 9.6V 1500mah Sanyo Ni-Cd.

If it sounds like the motor is trying to push but it can't, like it makes sort of a click. Then your piston is most likely locked back in half cycle. It is a very annouying problem, however easily fixed.
For the most part its caused by a lack of power, you saying that its heavily upgraded, I'll assume it pushes out a higher fps. Another action that can cause it is letting go of the trigger too quickly in semi-auto causing it to half cycle and become seized. First, try a full charged battery and see if it can pull it out of that mess. If it can't then you get to have the fun of accessing the lower half, or all of the mechbox. I've just recently put a FTK SP120 in my P90 and this has happened a few times to me. I simply popped out the mechbox, removed the motor, pushed the bevel gear forward just a hair, and released the anti-reversal latch, and released the gears. I've never worked on a G36, but it you can removed the motor plate and the motor, you may be able to access it in the pistol grip, but you have very limited room then. I have a pick set for autobody which has been a life saver. If your unsure about how to access your mechbox, then maybe find someone with experience. What piston are you running?

It's a Prometheus Piston with a POM Piston Head.
Re: Muffin's post. Thanks for all the info. I'll charge the battery right up and give 'er, but I have doubts. It's a 9.6V and couldn't have been at less than 2/3 capacity at the time, but hopefully that'll resolve it. Otherwise, I'll check the gears out and make sure they're timed correctly. The problem occurred while I was firing a burst in Auto by the way. Might help narrow this down a bit more.

Mine's done this on me twice. Take out the MB, pull the motor off, trip the anti-reversal latch. Problem solved.

If the piston is WAY back, even a fresh battery will not be able to pull the remaining 2mm.
Ask Hypercube... I opened his G36 today because it was seized like that. |

What would be the cause of such phenomenon? Would it indeed be lack of power? I guess so if it's incorrect timing. My Battery has another hour to go, so I'll soon be able to fix this issue, but how do I prevent it form happening? I'm already using a 9.6V battery, and I think anything higher will just be overkill unless I totally replace the mechbox...damn expensive sport! WHY MUST YOU BE SO ADDICTIVE!?

I too run a 9.6 in my P90 and it still has siezed from time to time, either from a dying battery or letting off early. When it happens, just reset your gears by releasing the anti-reversal latch, but then don't try to fire it again until your battery is fully charged, perhaps having another fully charged batt on hand would help you out as well. |

Yeah, I charged the battery up and that got 'er moving again. If the same thing happens and I fix it the same way, I'll trip the A-R latch and make sure everything's timed correctly. I'll keep all of you guys' advise in mind from now on, as this has never happened to me before, nor have I ever heard of it until now.
Thanks, guys!
