TM M16: Repairing broken receiver tabs, In progress!
Aaaallrighty. Just got a new (Well, Used) TM M16a2 rifle the other day. and one fateful night, I picked the rifle up by the stock, and crak! it fell in half. the tabs simply broke off.
So, I've been doing a bit of research and apparently, one of the more effective ways to repair broken tabs is through cutting out peices of tin and punching a hole through it for the receiver pin to fit through. So, I did just that. I had this cruddy tin box for a DVD set I never really bothered to reuse. so I cut it up into strips and made these new tabs. Now, lets do the math + = ??? Yeah, Not quite as far as gluing the tabs onto the receiver quite yet... Still pondering what kind of glue to use! I'm heading over to walmart later today and i'm gonna pick out some krazy glue or something to experiment with. i'll update the thread once things get going. ________ ALASKA DISPENSARY Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:41.. |

I would use epoxy over krazy glue.

You could bend a piece of plastic/metal/etc and attach it to the inside ceiling of the top receiver and have it stick out like the builds on the metal M4 receivers. You would have to slide the receiver on tho.

I recommend epoxy or JB Weld or something, not crazy glue.
