AR15 Pistol Drop Leg Holster

This has probably been posted before, but I'm not looking to inform people about it, I want one:

Can anybody in Canada make one of these? Does anybody know who I could get into contact with to copy the design via the video? In part 2 of the video the creator explains the design while showing it to the audience. It would not be too difficult to draw up. I just have 0 experience with working with 1000D Nylon, Scuba webbing, and velcro.

So. Tell me who to call, please.

I'm working on a simplified loadout. Soon to be selling my MP5k and only using Armalite's. I'll soon have an outdoor and CQB setup with two different Armalites, and I want an easy way to store the AR15 pistol without a sling. It also means I can focus on only carrying one type of mag, and lots of them.

Besides:

It looks pretty fucking badass.

EDIT: I wonder if I could use it in IPSC... xD

If its for airsoft, not real, whatever works for you, personal preference.

For real-steel on another hand:
In the US, its used to circumvent and go around the NFA 1934 which includes a ban for short-barreled rifles. By getting a virgin receiver, one that has never been built to a rifle, declaring it as a pistol, one can attach whatever length barrel to the upper, unfortunately however one cannot place a stock or vertical foregrip to the AR pistol.

In my opinion the AR pistol is neither great for shooting it two handed like a conventional pistol nor shooting it from the shoulder like a conventional rifle. More important however than aesthetics and how great it feels in CQB is terminal ballistics, the critical wounding/incapacitation factor with rifles rounds is fragmentation which is dependent on velocity.

Running a barrel on a AR with 11" averages a velocity around 2700 to 3000 ft/sec, which is on the low side of the threshold for fragmentation. Basically in layman terms, you've turned your AR to perform with the terminal ballistics of a 22 LR with barrel lengths less than this. Sure it will go bang louder and brighter than a 22, but you better be damn good with shot placement if your using it for defense.

BTW, the holster for the AR pistol is an interesting idea, thanks for sharing it, even though that wasn't your intention.

Well I will be using it primarily for CQB at TTAC3, I found that I really enjoy the pistol qaulities of the Mp5K, but I'm buying all of my gear for my outdoor loadout of an Armalite. So I wanted to simplify my gear (read. Spend less money, improve muscle memory) by letting all of my weapons use the same magazines.

Now I want to pose another question, as I don't want to create a new thread. Does anybody know the LiPo size to fit the Mad Bull patriot short kit? The manufacturer states to use a Li Ion battery, which seems wrong due to shitty power draw, but still doesn't state the size of the battery compartment. The other option is the King Arms 4" Floating barrel setup, does anybody know if a Lipo can be stored in that front end?

I'll shoot a PM to Juggelz as well, but I thought I would open the discussion publically as well.

Oh, in no way was I criticizing the AR Pistol for airsoft, whatever floats your boat. Just like there are people that love the Glock grip angle and others that hate it. My comments was coming from a real-steel shooter just directed to Harbinger of Darkness, who wanted to know why an AR pistol in the first place.

I am all for the lightfighter loadout, especially after last weekends competition here. First time I faced heat exhaustion, ditched my 3rd, and 2nd line, and just ran around with 1st line. Whats important is not what other people say, as long as it works, and you train with it, then your good to go!

I'd hate to have to operate that safety on the draw in CAPS/IPSC I'd have to modify it to be more of an HK style selector lever with a stop so it can't go into auto.

Also the muffin top in the video was horrible

Yeah, but if fat hick Americans didn't have so much free time, I'd be out the design for a holster...

As for accidental Auto, the gun I'm turning into the AR pistol already has a trigger master MOSFET I installed. So I can turn full auto into Semi. As for actually doing CAPS, I'm pretty sure you're only allowed gas operated pistols... T_T But it's still a hilarious idea.

Well if the holster covers the trigger guard then it's IPSC legal (the holster at least). As for the ar well for sure it puts you in open class (break, optics)and if it's going to be allowed then it's all up to the MO that runs the event because the real problem is that your 223 is going to punch holes in the steel plates and popers add the very distinc possibilities of ricochets. Fangible ammo is a must for safety reasons so expensive....Running a pistol calliber ar would solve that problem but if you use 9mm then your shooting minor ( not good for points unless you push the 9mm enveloppe to hit the major power factor) but you have 10 rounds (with the ar pistol mags) but if you run other caliber ar's like 45 your stuck with 5 unless your setup usses pistol mags.

I used my 7.5 inch 9mm ar for ipsc in a level 1 fun match and it was hoots of fun.... of course my score was shit but hell I do IPSC for fun and not the score
