TASCO Scope Doesn't Fit.

I recently bought a Tasco 3-7x 20mm scope for my airsoft gun, but, it doesn't fit onto the rail; do I need to buy a weaver?

Is there a specific kind of weaver? And where can i buy one (i live in Atlantic Canada).

Several possibilities someone should correct me if i'm wrong
1. Since it's a clone the rail wasn't made to the correct dimensions. Shouldn't matter with most mounts
2. The rifle doesn't have a weaver rail

lastly, i don't think you're going to get much sympathy

3-7x 20mm.... That's an airgun scope. If so, the tubes are not big enough to fit on regular scope mount. You have to get yourself a 30mm scope and up.

You need a rifle scope.

Simple. That is a dovetail mount for a pellet gun or a 22 long rifle. Buy some $10 weaver style rings from a local WalMart and you are set. Make sure if you wear a mask to get tall enough ones to look down the scope with your mask on. If you only wear glasses low or medium will do fine.

Weaver rings fit on 1" tube. dovetail Fits on 1" tube. Get weaver rings.

a temporary fix i learned from some guy was to get yourself a strip of screen door trim from the hardware store sand it on the long edges so that a cross section looks like a trapezoid, and mount that to your gun, and mount the scope onto the wood. probably want to paint that black though. should hold until you can get some rings or a new rail

Actually, if you are using a stip of alluminium, screw it in the place of the normal rail, then mount the scope tight... and never remove it, it should be possible to center it properly... poor man's scope mount...

get a new scope.

Airgun scopes use a 3/8" rail, and sit in small shallow grooves alongside the receiver of the airgun. Weavers use the 20mm rail, which is larger and more robust.

Nutshell, get a proper scope with the proper rings. "Poorman's mounting" might get the scope onto the rifle, but it won't be secure enough to game with and you'll lose/break your airgun scope. Worth the risk? Up to you.
