Father & son shooting

A couple of days ago, I received a Tokyo Marui MP5 Boy's that I purchased in the classified for my son. He's tried my JG MP5 and absolutely loved it, although he's a bit small for his age, and it was rather big for him. When I saw this gun in the classifieds, I knew I had to get it for him. Thought I would share these pics with you guys.

I must say I'm most impressed with this little gun. The attention to detail is remarkable. Without a doubt, it looks better than my JG, all in a manageable size. And it fires both harder and straighter and has a faster rate of fire than his Palco Firepower F4 Boy's. Anyone looking to get their kids started with shooting would be well served looking into one of these if they can get one. It's a fine little piece of gear.

Very cool.

By the title of the thread I half thought it was gonna be some sort of news cover on a tragedy!

Yeah, gonna have to talk to him about that. He's usually pretty good about it. I remind him of it all the time, but usually he doesn't have to be told.

Well, his online gaming name is Lil' Crunch.

Would be cool if he could get into a game with me, but looks like he'll have to wait another 8-10 years for that...

well i was surprised to see, but at one of the games i attended, there was a father son combo, i believe his son was 10-12. it was shocking but they were very honourable. when one died the other defaulted as well, and they were glued to each other at all times. in a case like that i feel that, that is acceptable. talk to your local GO and see what they think.

We don't really have a local airsoft field, although a couple of guys are trying to set one up. They're having the first game next month, and if it goes well and the interest is there, it looks like we'll have a permanent field. But so far, they're strict on the 18+ rule. And I can't really fault them for that. I would see it as acceptable too, but not everyone would see it that way, and I can respect that decision.

My daughter (almost 13) has been shooting my KJW M700 once in a while the past few years in my basement (bipod on bench rest) shooting bottle caps at 30ft ( ) and loves it. But have gotten her (I'd say peer pressure, but not sure the correct word for a parent pressuring the child to shoot guns if they don't want to............. "Aw, c'mon!!!!!! You'll LIKE it!!!!!") to shoot my MP5 and she always claimed it was too heavy for her (wah!) but I did get her to do some advancing while shooting and reloading at the Foxden in 2006 on an aluminum foil oven liner at 100ft away, and she seemed to enjoy it. Now I see what yo uare doing with your son, I might get one for my daughter (and my son when he's old enough, he's almost 5). Would be pretty cool for me, and maybe more motivating for them (ok, her anyways, he LOVES airsoft guns, and for a few nights before bed I'd cock and give him my magless Crosman P99 and showed him how to clear the bedrooms upstairs of "Tangos", all closets, behind doors, under the bed, the bathroom.................. imagine my surprise when he shot one of th efuckers in the toilet, hiding under the lid.............. one place I wouldn't have even checked! He was 3 at the time. Lol!!!!!)

Is something I want to do at eh Foxden someday. Even though I rarely play the field more than a couple times per year now, I want to drag my daughter out to a small game someday to get her some kills, and I'd do the same, have her with me 100% of the time (protective, no chance of getting lost ont he field) and she could get herself some kills. If I gave her my sniper rifle to use....................... poor bastards on the other end. Lol

Kids are great. It's always good to have a common activity with your kids regardless what it may be. I'm a single father, so it's even more important to do stuff with my son. I the job of both parents, but I'm also a good friend to him. We seem to like a lot of the same stuff, so we get to do a lot of stuff together. And shooting is another one that he can now participate in too.

And yeah, this little gun is awesome for kids. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a video review of it on youtube being compared to a Well Boy's MP5, and it looked very impressive in comparison. I figured that would be a great new gun for my son, and just his size. He already has the Firepower Boy's F4 (M4), but hates it because it's clear (smart kid lol). He's not very enthusiastic about its full-auto ROF either (about 3-4 bb/s), and finds it wimpy compared to my AEGs. lol

I was wondering where I could possibly find one of these, and lo and behold, I see one in the classifieds, so I had to snatch it up. And I'm glad I did. He absolutely loves it. The ROF is about 8-10 bb/s, which is pretty impressive. I haven't found info on the muzzle velocity yet, but I can say this thing easily performs almost as well as my Western Arms pistols running on duster. And there's an adjustable hopup too, so that's also an extra bonus. I'll upload a video of him shooting in a bit.

And it looks absolutely awesome too. Cosmetically, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this gun. Not as much metal as the full size version, but still a nice gun. It's got a plastic mechbox, and probably plastic gears too, but seems to run nicely. It's a cool little gun. I can't get over it. lol
