It is just a pin running through the mechbox to the rear, pushing a second piston back and forth.
Should be working and the foward load generated by an heavier piston won't be there since the parts are not connected. Only for AR though... |

Nice idea, but you can pretty much kiss a rear battery goodbye if your running a slither stock. Doubt you'd even fit one, easily at least, in a full stock.

I really like the idea and I'd definitly go for that if I was to build a CQB AR. I can't afford to have my battery in the front on the M4/M203 setup.

Wouldn't the extra weight of the rear-mass transfer undue stress to the already-fragile front of the v2 mechbox? Stock mechboxes are easy enough to crack with a good stiff spring. Good stiff spring with essentially a weighted piston...couldn't last long unless there's a bunch of buffers/cushions in there I missed.
I suppose the stock tube would have to attach some other way to the lower receiver...since the extension rod is where the stock tube screw is normally. Would like to see it for just the "that's cool" factor...I'd volunteer to destroy a mechbox or two to try it out. |
