Will this fit my Hi Capa...

http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...967S_cat_Outer Barrel for Pistols

It looks to be a outer barrel for a 2-piece outer setup for a TM 1911, does the chamber uses the same thread as the SD chamber for the Hi-Capa's?

And will this fit into the bushing setup for the SD Hi-Capa?

just to update, I have ordered the SD bushing for my Hi-Capa and the SD 1911 threaded barrel, I'll update you on the result. From Arnies I've heard the barrel thread is compatible....

alright, here is the result, the 1911 barrel does NOT fit the Hi-Capa Chamber, SD in all their wisdom uses different thread pitch for the 2....however, the thread diameter is the same and the pitch is close(note not the same), you can screw it on to get about 1/2 thread engagement, which means the tip of your barrel sticks out 3/8" beyond the bushing set, and the engagement is tight enough I think that you probably won't need to worry about it coming off. Seeing outer barrel is purely cosmetic on an airsoft gun it is not that much of a problem....

One thing I don't like about the threaded barrel adaptor is that the end that goes into the barrel is in counter clockwise thread, while the end that goes on the silencer is in clockwise thread. So you cannot tighten the assembly fully as tightening one loosen the other(and potentially the barrel to chamber thread)....seems silly design to me....

Some picture, note in the 3rd pic the thread that's showing between the outer barrel and the chamber....

I think I can live with it, ideally though I would've like to make that outer barrel myself with the proper thread with the proper adaptor, but I can't seem to find the kind of thread SD used to make the chamber, and the cost of getting a specific tap for it plus stainless stock is not going to be cheap....

Cole's note version: SD Chamber for both 1911 and Hi-Capa will fit with the 1911 straight barrel with thread adaptor, SD Chamber for Hi-Capa only will not(as seen in above pic).

Full Version:
Alright, this should be the final say for this issue. I have managed to get a "Colt .45 Auto" SD chamber for Hi-Capa, one that was stated on DenTrinity as for Hi-Capa 5.1 as well as compatible with M1911A1, and sure enough the 1911 barrel which had problem fitting the "Barsto .45 ACP" chamber screws right on with no issue what-so-ever. So I guess for those of you who want to go with a silencer route with a Hi-Capa, this is the definitive solution: Get a SD slide with the bushing groove, get the bushing, get SD's chamber that's known to be for both Hi-Capa and 1911(I find the listing on DenTrin to be most complete of all the major HK dealer), and get the SD 1911 straight outer barrel with thread adaptor, and you can use any 14mm+ silencer with no issue. I guess SD had different chamber for different use, perhaps taking into account of the Hybrid barrel as well(which requires positional alignment with the slide), and the V12 barrel and such....

I'll keep the Barsto for my 1911 when it gets here, at which time I'll get a straight Hi-Capa barrel to use with it.....

what is the difference between 1911 chamber and hi capa chamber? If a chamber can be made to accomodate both pistols then is it possible to easily modify the 1911 chamber to fit a hi capa? In that case would Nine Ball Outer Barrel Straight Marui M1911A1 fit with bushings installed on a stock slide?

also would the bushings interfere with fitting an SAS front kit?

I ask because I HATE the cone type outer barrel of hicapa. Everything else about this gun is so awesome..

I'd imagine it's the threading that's different. If you have proper metric re-threading tools, then yeah, you could modify it.

A bushing system will not install on to a stock slide, so no, you couldn't use the Nine Ball straight outer barrel.

And yes, a bushing system will interfere with the SAS kit.

Nine Ball Outer Barrel Straight Marui M1911A1, is one piece chamber and outer barrel attached btw.

So If I bought the above and a metal slide with bushings then I could have a hicapa with a straight barrel?

yes, though I have heard elsewhere that SD's stuff don't like other brand's parts as well as their own, but with the bushing there is nothing that stops you from using a 1911 outer barrel...

Sorry to thread jack, but was wondering about this as i have a WE Hi Capa 5.1 and was wondering if it is compatible with other types of Hi Capa magazines or does it only fit WE ones.
