TM FAMAS help?
Yeah I am new to airsoft and found a nice gun but it doesn't come with a battery. Could anyone give me a link to a battery that will fit the Marui - FA-MAS F1?
Thanks. |

FA-MAS probably isn't a great gun for a first AEG either.

The FAMAS is a great gun. It's way underestimed. But's it's not the gun that make the man. Better be with a FAMAS on the right spot than with a PTW at the wrong one.

Bob the angry potato swears by this gun.

Should I start off with a FAMAS or do you people have another gun in mind?

Many will tell you to save more to buy a more recent AEG. IMO a good advice. Can go wrong with a G36C, a cost/effective AEG with plenty of upgrades.

After the reviews, check how often you see the gun you want is mention as having problems in the Doctor's Corner. If you see that model there all the time, it may not be a good buy. Another idea is to go see a local game. Regular players do not tend to have guns that will fail them, so seeing what is really being used will give you ideas. The players will also be happy to answer questions during breaks. Why all this? Because we cant choose for you. |

I've been told a lot of good things about the Famas, the only downside I heard is that it tends to be creaky and too plastic. Other than that, great.

Until recently I owned a FA-MAS, I loved it, but it wasn't my first AEG. The MAS is fun and all, but the amount of upgrades you can do to it are limited and it's difficult to upgrade. I recommend starting with another gun if for no other reason than learning about a V2/V3 mechbox will be much easier.
The 'mas is upgradeable, but it's a pain. Having said that, if you leave the thing stock it's a tank and will run forever.

Seconded.
This was reaffirmed when it outranged -SWAT-'s upgraded Redwolf SPR. It's a beast of a gun, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

id have to disagree, all a famas needs is a spring, its solid inside and out. its a great gun for starters as they cant waste time and money pulling accessories on their gun, great rof and accurate and cheap usually. new players usually start out with hicaps and thats usually all you get with a mas. i reccomend it for new players all the time.
