tm hi capa 5.1 w/ sd upgrades- Gas blows everywhere!!! sticky trigger......

okay, i bought a tm high capa from some guy on ebay. it was upgraded with:

shooter's design steel chamber
shooters design outer barrel
shooters design metal slide
guarder enhanced recoil and spring
pdi trigger
nine ball sas front kit.
banana

so i take the gun out of the box and it looks great! a few scratches but nothing major, take the slide off and see there's minimal wear so after inspection i:

i put some lube on it,
fill a mag,
stick the mag in,
cock it,
take a shot,
bb shoots out,
buddy screams,
slide goes HALF INCH BACK,
hammer finishes halfway between cocked and uncocked.
slide finishes in forward position, minus a few milimeters, which when i push forward, kinda gives a little resistance

then GAS FLIES EVERYWHERE!!!!
WTF

i notice that sometimes when i cock it, (mag out/in) the slide doesn't return either. i kind of have to give it a lil force. and no it's not getting stuc on the thing that keeps it back. it just gets stuck.i tried different mags, i tried more lube, i tried taking off the sas kit, i took the whole upper apart, nothing SEEMED broken. the guy indicated there were some trigger problems which may be the cause . this is what he said,

"i have a theory about the sticking trigger. the trigger was botched during installation and it sets too far in the gun. if that's replaced, the sticking shoudl go away and allow the trigger mechanics to work correctly"

i don't notice any sticky trigger, but then again this is the first tm gbb i've owned. maybe that is the issue? leaky valve? gotta do some dremelling? i'm not so great with the gbb, so if someone could give me some advice it'd be much appreciated.

out of the 10-15 times i tried shooting it, only once did it work properly.

looking for a reason and a remedy please and thanks.

guarder guide rod is sticky with the stock bushing(as well as SD's bushing, which you don't have), it improves a bit with silicone lube but only short term. Stock guide rod with its finish is much smoother I find.

About the issue, I would check the blowback/breech chamber thing with the loading nozzle and stuff. This sounded like the problem with my Hi Capa, which the nozzle was cracked.

Could also be a cracked loading nozzle. It usually happens after you do a heavy upgrade of metal slide and enhanced recoil spring.

There's two parts that go: 1) the o-ring or 2) the loading nozzle

The o-ring only blew on the first generation of hi-capa 5.1s. Marui has since revised the design with a cupping lip design that's much stronger and I've yet seen to blow, although anything is possible. Blown loading muzzles seem to be much more commenplace nowadays. I've seen about 7 cracked muzzles in the past 6 months (4 of which were mine).

The instant test to see if your o-ring is blown, is to rack the hammer and see if the slide is far enough forward to engage the safety. If you can engage the safety, then the o-ring is fine. If you can't push the slide forward enough to engage the safety, then the o-ring has slipped off and is blocking the action.

I just replaced the nozzle and the piston with SD items, the parts themselves seem more durable, though I can't say I've noticed marked improvement over the stock items.
