Death Korps of Kreig

Hey everyone,

I found this Warhammer 40,000 stuff (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog..._OF_KRIEG.html )and now im thinking of getting the gear to look similar to that (plus im a war buff, so the added WWI/WWII look wont be lost on me). That being said, i dont want actual or vintige stuff, just gear that will resemble it, cause remember, i will be playing in this, not looking at it. So, does anyone know where i can find:

1. a decent trench/great coat (cause its harder than it seems)
2. a non used gas mask similar to the one in the pics (if it doesn't have the tube coming out of it thats fine)
3. a German style helmet (if not, ill just grab a swat style one)
4. the wraps for the boots (which i beleive are called putties, but i might be wrong)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks to everyone who posts!!

someone loves the new Krieg by forgeworld. That stuff is a bit more, fancy I guess. as a suggestion, go steel legion, they're not as gaudy, or you could even rock out the cadians haha.

1. Best bet: eBay, lots os old German military gear up there, I bought a great coat from there, costs about $50-100 for the East German ones (1946-onwards). They are the same cut as the world war II ones, the only difference is they have 6 buttons instead of 12, but that can easily be changed by a good tailor. The original wwII ones, forget it, like $500+

2. Surplus stores, I think a cold war Russian gas mask would be the most similar to the ones you showed, lots of surplus store have them, or again, eBay.

3. I'd probly just get a replica pasgt and paint it black, it looks very similar to the Stahlhelm, which are very expensive, even replicas go for around $200-300. Original, I've seen some more than $1000

4. Either surplus store or ebay, they are not the most important part of the kit, so don't spend a lot on them.

Good luck!

Nah forget the M14... you need a Bren Gun :P But for the helmet, a local surplus store had some German steel helmets with webbing for about $30-40. They looked like the pic in the following glossary following: http://www.german-helmets.com/GLOSSARY.htm

For the record it is KW Surplus in Kitchener, don't quote me on the price, and they had atleast 3 on the shelf by the back right corner.

Israli gas mask. I have one that looks nearly identical, minus the tubing and boxfilter.
