Depends on where you are planing to play. If you are planing to play in woodland setting than buy flecktarn or US woodland. Both are cheap at work well. British DPM also works very well.

Decide the look you want to portray and make your purchases based on that, or determine what camo works best in your area.

you have two choices.
1) as morbius stated, decide what look you want, marine, sf, army ranger, can soldier, brit, uk/ german. and build your kit from there. uk and canadian loadouts are hard to assemble and expensive. american loadouts are a dime a dozen, easy to get, but usually not accurate.

2) as 666 hinted, where are you most likley to play? whats your terrain and environment like.

the two camo's im sold on are multicam and cadpat. i hate cadpat myself, but you cant deny it works very well (in certian environments) and multicam works well in a variety of environments.

All good points, depends on whether you want to emulate an existing role of a military or other force, or what environment you play in.

I myself have a tan/black loadout for arid terrain like a quarry, Woodland for in the woods, but most of the time im in my Multicam because it offers the most universal coverage, in the field im at the most. (beach/forest)

'Not realistic' as in 'not in use by modern forces'.

Anyway, if you decide to go for DPM (temperate or desert) send me a PM, I can get you started with info and some connections
