AUG Clip Missalignment Problem. PICTURES. Please Help.
At a game a careless little PB kid pushed my Aug off the picnic table 8-O. The gun shoots fine and the case wasn't cracked or anything, heck there weren't even scratches. But the plate that the clip fits against somehow tilted. Its lower (much lower) on one side then the other and because of this clips hit the 'roof' before enough of the clip has gone in to engage the device that holds the clip. Here are pictures of what I mean.
I somehow have to raise the part on the right up to the same level of the left. But I can't... it won't go up. I can't even find that piece in the TM manual. Here's a pic of what I have to do. Can anyone think of a way that I can get to that piece and raise it? |

Take out the gearbox from the rear and reposition the plate from the other side.

I pulled the gearbox out and the plate was on rails. When it fell one side popped out of the rails so I pulled it out and slid it back in propper. This has fixed the clip plate but sweet zombie jesus is this thing tight. I'm having a bitch of a time putting the gearbox back in.

Keep trying. It should slip right in after some jiggling... once it finds the right place, it'll go in. DON'T force it in if it's not going naturally.
