best Mechabox/gearbox type 2?

Hi, i planing an upgrade for my TM SR16, it sholud get 120 spring with all recomendet inner parts, an I will buy for it a reinforced Mechabox to strength that upgrade. Cann anybody tell whitch one ist the best? Guarder, G&P, and CA are aveliable (CA 2 versions - 6mm or 7mm bushings).

PROWIN, its the F1 of the mechbox world. with the 120 spring it shoots close to 450fps. Full CNC construction and an AIR TIGHT hopup so there is no loss of power! You can swap out the spring in 5 minuites to take your guns from a longrange sniper to an indoor legal gun.

So now that i told you a few of the good things heres the few drawbacks,

lots of work to make it fit a metal body (unless made my huricane)

I say the Pro-Win is better than the Haynes. Just as strong, with a bunch of extra features that you don't normally get, such as: Spring-decocking lever, quick spring-swap feature, integrated gearbox/hop-up chamber for minimal air loss.

It has its pros and cons, but in the end, getting the benefit of all those extra features makes it worth it in my eyes.

But given your list of choices, I would go with the G&P or Hurricane models. I have no experience with the Classic Army ones, so I can't really say.

i love my pro win, it looks bitchen just sitting on the table. I have ALLOT of work to do to get it into my C8 metal body.

Plus the nice thing about the PRO WIN is it comes in 50 different baggies and you get to put it together like a model....WEE so much fun

i really must agree, the systema boxes are the best you can get for a reasonable price, and i have yet to break one with an M120 setup. failing the systema get a G&P they are fine also.

all you guys who praise the prowin box, have you ever installed one? i havent myself but i know one who is really firm on his fingers and he could not get i to work even with a hurricaneE metal body.

Yes, I've installed one, in a G&P metal receiver, which is one of the harder ones to install it in. Hurricane is the EASIEST metal receiver to modify to fit the Pro-Win. Installing the Pro-Win isn't hard... IF you know what you're doing. It's just time consuming. If you don't know dick all about modifications, then steer clear of the Pro-Win.

hm, pro win, by HK reselers only 176 US.
Systema complet gearbox its a good idea, but I would probably go with that new from Guarder.
Anyway, in my closest suroundig countries I can get only the G&P, CA or Guarder version. G&P internals are questionabel, the hop unit is problematic if the gearbox is any better...?

I'd stay away from the Guarder one if I were you. I've had horrible experience with it. Poor tolerances and dimensions make it a real pain in the butt to install. There are several areas that need to be modified just to get pieces to fit inside, and even still, there are areas that need to be modified just to get the mechanics of some things to work right.

STAY AWAY.

Granted, it's very low priced... but for a couple dollars more, you save yourself a WHOLE LOT of headaches.

You get what you pay for.

Give it some time, they may readjust their dies to have them moulded properly, but for now, don't bother with them.

I haven't had any problems with the G&P hop up, but in any case, the G&P reinforced gearboxes that you buy aftermarket aren't even made by G&P so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

The G&P aftermarket reinforced gearbox is made by the same company who does it for Hurricane, and in the past, was also the factory who sold to Systema and Progear. Once their licenses expired, it appears they were then sold to G&P and Hurricane.

Um, yeah. I have 2 of the new Pro-win's sitting on the table in front of me right now. Sure is fun to put them togeather! There are about as many parts to the hop-up unit on the pro-win as there are total parts in my VSR! LOL, that was several very long hours put that thing togeather properly. But, after doing some calculating, my mech box will last me the 6.5/7 years before it fails. How long will a G&P one last without serious work to it?

But yeah, when they say instalation is for experts, they really are not kidding. There is a fair amount that needs to be done to both the body, and in the mechbox in term of assembling. Leave it for someone who knows what they are doing, or you will have wasted a ton on cash.

Oh, the Pro-wins are in a Guarder C8 and a G&P Blackwater bodys. I'll get some pics up soon (couple weeks, moving very soon, very busy! )

But the Pro-win just ozzes Sex apeal!

i can vouch for that...i seen it in person...it looked like it was made for it..prolly sweat out 10 pounds for it...LOL

I too agree with Seals. I've have had mine for 6 months now and have had no problems what so ever.
