Do-it-yourself killhouse

Now, I know a lot of you have experience in creating appropriate airsoft BB traps, or in some cases, turning your entire basement into a killhouse (with the wife's approval, of course).

I'm just curious what kinds of tips you might have about this? I'd be pretty interested in turning my basement (or at least, a part of it) into a killhouse.

Do you guys have any recommendations with regards to good BB traps, setups, materials, etc?

Website links would be cool too.

Now, this isn't just about me wanting to do it in my basement, but more generally, getting ideas of cool things to do would be neat; they don't have to fit in my basement. If you have ideas, bring them out.

Basically, if it has anything to do with creating your own killhouse, post it up.

Microwave tunnel.

Line a 3 foot wide, 20 foot long tunnel with microwave emitters. Attackers must crawl through to the other end without becoming crispy.

Unfortunately this is not a system you can use too often, but you can eat what you kill.

(With enough power, it's self-cleaning too)

The easiest way to make a kill houes is two by fours and sheets of chip board. Make them just like a shed but dont put a roof on them. Add an extra door or a window or tow then start to line them up so the doors work with eachother. There called baby barns in the cf.

By a stack of boxes for any packaging warehouse. Stack them up into rooms size around your basement.

Can be taken down real quick when the wife comes down and see you dress like a fool shooting pieces paper.

Sorry, had to.
Now for the serious suggestions.

Fishing line tripwires attached to those little cheap hand-held alarms serve as really good (and annoying) "mines".
You could also use the same type of alarm system you find in many stores. The ones that beep as you cross the door or cut off an infrared laser beam?

A small box (film canister) on top of a door filled with cheap-ass .12 ammo that would be rigged to fall onto person entering an area.

That's all that comes to mind which is safe, cheap, and works well.

Well like I said, it's not just for me.

I hope people will chime in and bring ideas to the front to share with everyone.

Blow up a baloon with air (maybe put a bit of powder), put it next to a door and make it so that when they open the door, a needle is dropped on the baloon.

it will make a "BANG!" and its kinda like a bomb... kinda, might scare the bajeebuz out of someone.

Do any of you have any experience trying to get self-reseting targets to work?

What we use

At TTAC3,

Sheets of chip board, drill 4 holes equal spaced down each edge. The you can link them together and make self supporting structures and walls by zipping the panels together with zip ties ( wire ties)

Been using this system 3 time a week for over a year now, effective , durable, and nearly infinite configurations.

another way of making it portable and more stable with less drilling would be to mount wood notches on the top bars of the walls. You could then drill holes in a home made wood I-beam or clamp of some sort, allowing for more re-usabililty of the structure walls.

Or, another idea Goldman is to go out to the local Home Depot, and get 1 inch dowel. Then just drill holes and peg the whole thing together.
