TM AK basic internals

So I did some poking around and it seems to me like the best way to get my fps up without putting too much strain on my gun is to get a Guarder FTK-27. I was wondering if anyone had advice for other parts to get at the same time to increase power or durability.
Also, I found a post commenting on damage being caused when this upgrade is used in combination with the Guarder autoback bolt carrier (http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...highlight=FTK). Is the issue here the autoback, or the FTK itself? Would a weaker spring than the SP120 that the FTK comes with be a good idea?

Whatever you do, don't install that spring. It will take your gun's fps over the limit of most fields. Keep the upgrade simple: spring, bushings, spring guide. The rest doesn't have to be changed until they break. That's what I've done to mine and it works like a charm. I put a Prometheus non-linear M110 in there, along with a HuricanE bearing spring guide and bushings.

The only thing you have to do with a Marui AK is to change the bushings, and add a mild spring. The rest is not required.

So you are looking at maybe $50 total?

No problem, I own two and after going through the upgrades myself I went back to the simplest choice; spring and bushings.

Another option is to keep the original spring and install a bearing spring guide instead. That adds a few FPS right there all by itself.

Not sure if you have ever taken the Marui AK apart, but I suggest that you ask an experienced person to show you. There are a few quirks to the gun.

Yeah, I was gonna get the guy who owns the shop in town to do it--he doesn't charge too much--and just watch and learn.
I'll probably do as you say and go with bushings, a spring guide and a bit of a spring.
I play in the cold weather quite a bit and had heard that that can cause cracking sometimes so I was gonna deal with that apart from trying to up my fps. Have you ever had problems with your the gears or piston heads in your AKs cracking?

I never play in Winter, and unless you put the spring from hell in there it's hard to screw up a V3 mechbox.

I had one (stock) piston's head separate once, and one (stock) gearset wore out. Mechboxes are fine.
