VLTOR Metal Receiver - Ejection Port Cover no lock?
Hi all,
I picked up the VLTOR Metal Receiver and noticed that the ejection port cover has no lock to close up. There was a small magnet but hardly strong enough to hold the port cover closed. Is it designed to be left opened? TIA! |

Both my CA and G&P ejection port is held closed by the magnet, seems to do its job.

Thanks thephenom. Maybe I may have "coiled" the spring too hard that the magnet is not strong enough. I'll check again. As a separate note though, what are your thoughts about using a magnet? Have you ever lost it? It's only a small round magnet....
cheers! |

The magnet on my ejection covers are physically on the cover itself, and not an additional piece and seems quite sturdy. (At least the multiple times I've opened the cover to adjust the hopup has never made the magnet fall off) I don't have any experience with the VLTOR receiver to really know how well that magnet would work.

Thanks for your response. Looks like the VLTOR receiver I have is made by G&P too, except licensed to emboss the VLTOR name. Strangely the box comes in a VLTOR box too.
I asked the shop yesterday and they mentioned that it was meant to be left opened. Maybe I made the wrong assumption about the separate magnet 'cos it came in the same plastic satchel as the the ejection port plate and spring. I'll ask them what the magnet is for. Once again, thank you for your help. |
