Team disputes
I live in the US and had some questions about teams having disputes about things.
Basicly what we are having is a power struggle. This other teams owns a website and sets up all the events in our local area. So this automaticly makes them the "Top dog" team. Everyone looks up to them and brown noses them every game. Which is rediculous because those of us that know the truth know that they arent a very good team and their leader is a cocky stuck up jerk. This team has constantly had problems with not calling hits and not following their OWN rules. Now we live in a small area and there are VERY few players around so its not like our team can just go and play with other teams. So its either play with people we dont get along with or dont play at all. I started playing airsoft to have fun with friends and all this has turned into is politics that obviously wont go anywhere. Our team doesnt not beleive in corrupt leaders and bending rules and it seems that everyone has their heads stuck so far up the leaders ass that we cant make them see differently. Does anyone have words of wisdom on this? I'm at a total loss and recruiting new people to play isnt working very well because our area is so small. Thanks in advance! |

So start your own website? Or go elsewhere?
Asking on a website that is hosted in another country makes no sense. |

Travel. Sometimes I'll travel 300-1200 miles for a game.
If you don't like these guys, don't play with them. Find a different place to play and travel if necessary. Or you could just not play. It doesn't seem like you have a huge dilemna here.

Have you considered joining the 'top dog' team and trying to make positive changes from the inside?
........and, if that doesn't work, try shooting that team leader in the neck every chance you get.

Yeah, I wasn't really serious about that, but I was about the other part.

If you cant go elsewhere, you either change them, play locally but elsewhere, do invite-only games, not play at all, or cope with it.
There is no miracle solution, what you do about the problem is really your call. |

i think the best idea is give the other team some competition. maybe the reason why the other players in your area wont see these guys suck is because they have no where else to go play? so why not try getting your own team running and see if that brings changes.

Have you tried walking down to the offending player and explainning to him what just happenned? Without shouting and cursing!?
Have a witness with you. I know you are in a small comunity, but if the problem is well known by everyone, they will stop looking up to them or games, espacially if you start hosting them yourself. That's how we work here. We don't make a fuss on the field. If it does not workout after we have explained ourseft, we just avoid the cheaters. In the end, it's a game. If you don't have fun when playing, you are in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people.

Yeah we never make huge deal on the field about it. We keep discusions to team leaders only but it never seems to work because the other teams leader is corrupt.

Are you the only person that feels this way?
If you aren't alone, then get the people who are fed up, and go play on your own end. Start your own website. Be the Non Cheating Top Dogs. Serious and honest players will then look up to YOUR team. PS. I forgot the "alternative" solution: If the guy won't call hits, upgrade your gun, and light the fucker up in full auto 'til he calls a hit. Or an ambulance. Whichever comes first.
