Battery Charging chart? Or could someone tell me at what rate?

Hey,

I just bought a 9.6v 1700 mah nicad battery and I love it but I need to know at what rate do I charge it at? I have a TLP-15 fast charger but I lost the charging chart. Any one know where I can get another charging chart or possibly at what rate I should charge my 9.6v 1700 mah nicad battery at? (IE:1.5a)

Thanks

Charge it as low as possible.

The lower you charge it, the longer it takes to charge, but it will be healthier for your battery.

If you must charge it fast, NEVER exceed 1C (in your case, 1.7A) if you value the health of your battery pack.

IIRC the manual that came with my charger recommended 1/2C for the initial charge with nimh, then up to 2C afterwards. For nicads, depending on size of cells, you could go up to 3C if you have sub-C cells.

But those are just the suggestions of one manufacturer.
