heavy barreled c8's with usually acog's or eotechs
c9a2's, though I'm almost positive I've seen m249 para models as well.
won't go any farther without breaching opsec.

They will use MP5s at least sometimes . . . or so I'm told.

The universal answer you're usually going to get it "What's standard for a non-standard military arm?" On top of the secrecy JTF2 thrives on, unconventional special forces are just that.

C8's and your standard CF goodies, I'm sure, though I've had word of mouth the MP5 is a favorite as well. That could very well be more publicly acknowledge gear, mind you. I'd suggest using your own creativity in trying to recreate what a JTF2 member might look to have during an operation.

On a somewhat related note, I remember a few years back when there was that engagement in Haiti, we sent some peacekeepers over there. I recall someone posting a scanned image from a newspaper; the caption claimed that the CF member pictured was JTF2.

For the life of me I can't remember the paper or when it was posted, and I haven't heard of any follow-ups that might have corrected the mistake in calling the peacekeeper JTF2 (if it was indeed a mistake), but does anybody have that picture or know where it might be?

Unfortunately you aren't likely going to get an accurate response. Those that don't know spout off, and those that do know say little or nothing. There is however a plethora of tidbits out in the ether if you look hard enough. Suggest milphotos to start.

JTF2 wears alot of stuff that differs from the standard canadian issue stuff like their load bearing vests (ive seen different chest rigs and the like)
and alot of times they use different optics on their weapons (not always the Elcan) sometimes a red dot (they probably use alot of their personal equipment that they prefer)
they are supposed to be secret as well so you probably wont find too much on them.

You're a goone...but the pictures are good indeed. They don't include the Haiti set but those can prolly be found on MilitaryPhotos.net

Aswell, JTF2 isn't a secret anymore, they are acknowledged by DND on multiple gov't websites. It's their training and operations that is so closely guarded.
