AUG does not fire in semi properly

Hey everyone:

My TM AUG has a systema spring guide, metal cylinder head, piston, and a prometheus 120 spring.

Over the past few weeks, I have noticed a gradual decline in the semi-auto functioning of my AUG. Last week, I noticed that some huge variations in the velocities of the shots on semi auto mode (from normal velocity to REALLY WEAK SHOTS). And sometimes, some shots would not have any BBs come out at all, and the next pull of the trigger would shoot out 2 BBs at the same time.

Today, I noticed that when I pull the trigger half way to activate semi auto, the gun would not fire sometimes. Almost as if the electrical contacts did not touch.

Of course while this was all going on with my semi-auto mode, my full auto mode has been working great.

So can anyone tell me what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance.

the aug upper and lower receiver halves tend to 'drift' apart after a bit resulting in weird semi auto firing
if you brace the inner bits of the receiver with foam/tape it fixes it

first bit goes at the very end of the top receiver, just under the hop chamber

second bit goes on the bottom of the receiver where it touches the bottom of the top receiver

you dont need a ridiculous amount of tape/foam
just a few mm here and there to tighten things up a bit

I still have a rather similar problem. My semi has never worked at all. Auto is fine, but semi simply refuses to shoot.
When I pull the trigger firmly to half way, there is a rather pronounced metallic twang from around where the magwell is. If I pull excruciatingly slowly to half, there is no twang and I can sometimes hear the motor spark (not turn, just the brushes/connections sparking) and occasionally pull off a shot.
Typically, once the trigger has 'twanged,' I can't get semi off even if I continue to pull very slowly.
It's been like this since I got it and it's still bone stock less a tightbore.

I'm pretty sure that my problem is 100% electrical. Is there anything I can do myself about it, being none too familiar with the internals of my gun?

Thanks

Wow. That was really helpful. Thanks for the tips.

The Semi-Auto is getting better now.

Is it possible to have semi-auto problems if the electrical connections are dirty? Do you guys use any specific cleaning solutions to wipe off the connections?

Thanks again
