didn't someone do such a test? had some in various locations to see if they were over a six month period, and it turned out that they hadn't changed at all in six months?
probably like most plastic, takes a little while?

There are a few brands from what I came up with when searching google. I did find this on ArniesAirsoft.uk

"COMMENT: The conducted tests show that the sample called Biotech also known as "Bioval BB's" are the ONLY environmentally biodegradable BB. Biotech BB's are a made of easily degradable components. The sample Excel & Cyber Gun BB's: All containing the compound styrene and are not biodegradable."

They did a test on some biodegradable BB's.. and came up with that. From what I could find, Airsoft Elite doesn't make bio bb's.

There are a couple of Japanese brand BBs that are listed as Bio-Degradable. And since Japanese restrictions are generally fairly tight, I would assume they are somewhat bio-degradable.

to make a long story short, AE BBs aren't biodegradeable. theres currently only 1 or 2 true biodegradeable BBs but the names excape me so watch out before buying bios BBs

There is a type of BB out there that IS biodegradable but expect to bend over and take it hard because they are expensive.

I forget the name of the brand as well, but I can tell you the packaging was yellow :P

Why post a response to his question when you have zero knowledge? Sweet jesus.

Biodegradable BBS are slightly more expensive (there is no bending over involved) but they still take a zillion years to breakdown. More of a gimmick really.

TM and Excel makes a bio-degradable ones. (Just checked on RedWolf) They are specifically labelled as bio-degradable.

But no idea how long bio-degradable means.

Damn environmentalists making BBs more expen$ive. Everything will break down given enough time. people just aren't patient enough.

Thanks Rick, that should help a lot in choice and as well as info about degardation. My concern is how long degration will occur, and what the consequences are of our using bio BBs at the field, how the owner will determine if they are in fact degrading or not. I don't think he'll be making a big deal out of it as far as scouring the ground, am sure just the fact we'd be using them would be enough for him to allow us to play there. Hopefully we can gain easy access to good bio BBs at a reasonable price, and a heavier weight would be a bonus.

Do a few thousand of them, you can outfit a small group of guys. Speaking of your silliness, recall Fox_111 posting at one point some small mints he bought, turned out to be about 6mm in size, and he actually tried them in his sniper rifle. Got a lot of funny joke replies to that.
