What IS the best Sniper Rifle?

Ok guys, we've done AEG's and GBB's, now its time to hear from you players who favour or use a Spring powered Sniper Rifle.

Same criteria as the previous threads, you must own or have owned the rifle, all of you opinions must be unbiased and of personal knowledge only.

Be sure to add in personal likes, dislikes, special features, easy adjustments, ect.

With that said, keep the thread clean to make the job of gathering info for a final info thread later on.

I'll bend the rules a bit, just because.
Requirements, for me:
-absolute simplicity of operation in all weather conditions; so must be spring powered.
-hopup must be adjustable.
-maintenance, upgrade choices and durablity must be fairly simple.

Of the guns I at least tried, that's the APS 2. Of the guns I'd look at; Marui VSR-10SV.
And when it gets here I'll report on a King Arms Dragunov. Yeah, getting one of those.

Memel, if you wouldnt mind, the thread is about your personal likes and dislikes on your rifle, your opinion isnt the same as someone else. Just take the time and write about your rifle following the guidelines. The more info I have, the better the end thread will be.

Alright, alright, yeesh!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread or the one started by Sniperchic(with the exact same question, btw), is the lightness of the Gspec.

I have no illusions of being a real soldier, and I can't be bothered to carry an un-necessarily heavy hunk of equipment, just for the sake of it being heavy(the same goes for AEGs, which magically get heavier by the end of the day anyway). In this respect the Gspec is perfect. With a few upgrades it performs more than adequately. If you're looking to lob a BB four hundred feet like a mortar, maybe you should get something else.

Because most sniper rifles are quiet, I personally don't need one that will out distance an AEG by 2X. If you're hidden, the silence makes up for distance.

I'm not going to brag about some amazing shots I've had because I haven't had any. I'm medioce at best with the rifle, but it's loads of fun, once in awhile.

Haven't had any real exp. with spring rifles, but I owned a gas Tanaka M40a1. Nice little rifle. (well, not 'that' little).
I loved the adjustable bolt, and the hopup was nice and easy to use, it's external, and is partially covered by the scope when it's mounted on the rifle. People say that gas is unreliable and fluxuates widely, but I never really noticed it. I even used .28s in it, because I could set the bolt for an exact fps, and not have the .28s blown off by air friction. I regret trading it away, but c'est la vie. I'll likely pick up a kjw m700 later on, as I understand it's the exact same rifle, (copied from the Tanaka m700 design)

if by exact same you mean inferior in every way, sure
i've owned a tanaka kar98k, tanaka m700, tanaka m24, maruzen aps2 and maruzen type96 (twice). i enjoyed gaming with my L96's best. there's a cheap upgrade cylinder for it, no need to change the sears and it has some spiffy ass range. the absolute best part of it was how it put the fear of god into the hearts of man and airsofter alike.
right now i use my heavily modified m14 and honestly the range is comparable. i've gotten some ludicrous shots with it but i miss the satisfaction of bolt action kills.

I also have the Tanaka M40, and I like the stock profile better than the 96 or 700 series. The 700s have VERY fat grips in comparison, and are heavier IIRC. The 40 is easier for me to aim with quickly. I can manuever it with one hand. I also like that it is not textured. The 96 stock (aside from the thumbhole) was very uncomfortable for me and entirely too large.
