moving up in pistol world
ive played with pistol's and aeg's but ive fallen in love with the pistols, and i need more!!! this post will pertain to two things. one, i would like a new pistol, and my friend as well.
heres my criteria -must be able to use propane - must be silver (or can get a silver slide easily enough, what can i say, i like silver!) - must be TM or WA for my friend, this being his frist weapon, i figured a TM hi capa 5.1, or a http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...orks%20Pistols i'm leaning toward this http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper..._SV%20infinity but would need a differfent slide. now for me, ive been looking at WA para's and SVI's. i do like some of the infiniti's. so what i would like from you guys is, between the tm hi capa, WA, and SVI, which is a good buy WITHOUT UPGRADES, and out of your experience, which can handle propane best/longest without breaking? to recape in simple form since i was probably all over the place, i am looking for: silver pistol propane reliablity good stock thanks for your help in advance, and the best GBB thread helped narrow it down. edit: also thought i'd add im used to using a tm desert eagle hard kick, so small guns are no for me, and harder recoil is nice. |

KJ Berettas are somewhat reliable and can use propane out of the box. Unfortunately their performance (range and recoil) is crap compared to WA and TM. WA is out because propane kills them without any upgrades. I'd say your best bet is a TM 5.1 with a silver slide, like this: http://www.ascarmoury.com/product_in...roducts_id=186
You'll also eventually need a replacement O-ring for the blowback chamber, it'll get dislodged with propane use. The 4.3 and the P226 have essentially "fixed" this problem, but they're not as big as the 5.1. The P226 has an aftermarket silver slide and frame from Guarder, but it'll be hard to find a 4.3 silver slide. |

I would avoid KJW if possible. I have had many problems with them and herd quite a few horror stories about them. One being the chipping of paint and chrome finishes, which would make your pretty silver look pretty bad. The note on the bottom of your link to the gun is not very promising as well.
"NOTE: Safety lever may cause gas discharge and shoot if the gun is chambered, always point the muzzle in a safe direction." The TM Hi-Capa 5.1 would be a great gun. There are plenty of after market parts for it including a metal piston head from guarder which should fix the o-ring problem when firing propane. I own one myself and would recommend it to anyone. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...php?i=3541&c=4 As for Western Arms they would also makes a fantastic choices and can fire propane very reliably with just a little upgrade from Airsoft Innovation. http://www.airsoft-innovations.com/i...ducts&id=AI-03 |

i noticed the note on the berretta. its what my friend likes, but i sent him about 10 links for other options, one being the hi capa. i said that would probably be the best bet for him since it will be his first pistol (ive let him sue mine though).
thanks for the help so far guys. i'm thinking i may get the hi capa, but i still want more suggestions before i make a decision. edit: its obviosly lighter than my DE but how does recoil comapre? are handgrips comfortable? also, how do WE Hi Capa 5.1 Dragons compare? |

Just want to tell you ain't the only one , I always been in love with pistols too.
As for the WE pistols , I must say I never used one but they seem pretty reliable as some say...but some also say they're not. What IS sure is that it's a hell of a great bang for your buck. No doubt about it |

Unless you want a skirmishable weapon, in which case I'd stay far far away from the Taiwanese knockoffs. Molasses-like blowback, and piss-poor gas consumption make me regret my KJW gun, and after a shootout between the two, the WE (even the newer generation ones) don't preform nearly as well as the 5.1 hi-capa.
WE's are good for showpieces, and stuff you just want for bling (which is what it's good for, high metal content and shiny things), but for practicallity and preformance the TM trounces over it with cleats on.

In terms of skirmishablity I guess TM is the best option, but personally I'd go for a WA and install an AI flow restrictor for safe propane use.

i see. well looks like i'll probably get 2 tm hicapas with silver slides. also the nine ball strike front kit, and possibly medium silver triggers.
though do like the WE Hi Capa Dragon Type B (7 Inch, Full Metal) (basically come with something similar to the nineball strike kit already) |

If you are coming to the game at XT this wednesday I can show you my WE Hi-Capa 5.1
The differences in the models are in the colour, and the size of the rail. Mine has a short rail whereas others have the full rail, etc. I've enjoyed my WE hi-capa so far but there are some short comings as was mentioned before (gas consumption, accuracy, minor cosmetics) If you're looking for durability with propane, go for a TM and get a metal slide. |

You're posting your opinion on a pistol that, judging by your other posts, you've never even read a review of, much less owned. GDIAF.
