CA33E Upgrade Path- Spring, TightBore, Silencer...
I need a direction in my upgrade path.
I want to make my gun into a "loud" sniper- Ca33e. I'm thinking of a tightbore, and a guarder sp120 or something. It has a 429mm barrell, and I would consider putting a suppressor to hide the extra length if I needed it. I've been searching, but what tightbore length and company should I use? Someoen reccomended guarder, would that be suitable? I have no fps limit, except what my friends want/ don't want to hurt them. What silencer would work on my ca33e? I really have no idea. I talked to the guys at airsoftgi, they said I would need a new battery with the new spring... What would fit in the stock, and what would be a suitable powered battery?

Lots of people swear by Prometheus barrels; other brands are Systema and KM. A Guarder SP120 spring will probably give you ~450FPS with that combination. I can't recall what cylinder comes with the CA33, but if it's not a full length one (no holes) you need one if you're going to use a 509mm (M16 length, usually the longest people go for) tightbore. Any silencer will do as long as it's 14mm counter clockwise, which nearly all airsoft silencers are, and it should be at least 10cm long to hide the rest of the barrel.
Depending on what battery you have now, you might not need a new one. Tell us your specs and we can tell you what you need. |

I've had both 429mm & 550mm tightbore barrels on my CA33E.
PDI 150% 550mm Prometheus 6.03mm Tightbore. Systema Type-0 Cylinder. Prometheus Reinforced Piston. TM Hopup Sleeve. Metal Bushings & Reinforced Gears. TM Low Profile Mount & Guarder Aimpoint. G&P OPS Socom Silencer. Cranked out a hella accurate 393FPS w/.20g AE BB's. Any standard 14mm- thread silencer (fits all aeg's with 14mm- threaded barrels.) will fit your CA33E, You can see it here. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...&searchid=2338 As for battery, I ran a 9.6v 2000mah NiCd battery in my gun, it ran it uber smooth, I personally have be unable to make the gun purposely jam, nor has Tankdude, the new owner of it. A 9.6v will make your CA33E mucho happy. |

I think I'm gonna just upgade power wise, and hold off on the sniper role. I thihnk im gonna get an sp120, but which battery,
9.6 3800? would this be ok? http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...09&SSAID=67256 Or should I stick to a more reputable company?

Most 3300mAh NiMH batteries underperform. I'd recommend having a custom pack built at www.cheapbatterypacks.com, I've had nothing but excellent experience with them. Any 9.6V battery above 3000 mAh should run your gun fine. I use a 3800mAh 9.6V made with GP cells running an SP100, and the ROF is insane.

why would it underperform, are you specifically saying 3300, or the NiMH batteries?
I like the price, thats why I'm askign about it, but I have no idea what I need at that site.

I'm saying specifically 3300mAh NiMH, not NiMH in general. Like, a 3600mAh NiMH will give a LOT more power I've found.
The site you linked has a pretty good price, but that kind of charger is next to useless. Spend the cash and get a good RC charger like a TLP or Duratrax, it will give your batteries a longer life span and save you money in the long run. I use a Duratrax Piranha Digital Peak, you can probably find one for under $80. Check this link: http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...r=20&model=197 It's pretty simple, but keep in mind you probably don't need your pack upgraded; it'll give you negligible performance gains for the price. |

i have a charger that came with my 8.4 1800 mah, would that not work? If I were to spend 80 on a charger, I would probobly spend more on a battery lol.

I do have this from when I did RC cars...
also, would the 9.6 3300 be able to power a guarder sp120. Could I go with an 8.4? Or should I go with 9.6. I really don't know anything about batteries. Basically, I want to upgrade my gun to use a guarder sp120.

8.4V 3300mAh should be able to turn an SP120 fine, as long as you don't mess up anything in the mechbox like shimming too tight. That charger will fry the 3300mAh battery as it's a NiMH, and your charger will only do NiCad.

ok, will my current charger that I use for my 8.4 volt 1800 mah work?

How should I know? Have you posted any specs or given a model number or anything?
As I said before, chargers that come with batteries are usually absoute shite. Spend the money and get a decent charger or you'll be spending more money on batteries as they die. |
