major cleanup
this past weekend i decided to throw a party with large quantities of alcohol present. my friend decided it would be cool to vomit all over the corner of my room, the same corner where i happen to store all of my guns; my brand new clcassic army g36k included. well long story short and sparing you pictures, vomit completely coated this gun and the only way i could clean all the little chunks of vomit from all the nooks and cranies was to take the gun completely apart and soak each piece in bleach and hot water. this wasn't really a problem considering almost the entire gun is plastic but when i came to the gear box thats when we ran into difficulty. i triend toothpicks, toothbrush, etc, etc to get all the little vomit chunks from the gear box but to no avail. the only solution i could think of was to dunk it in the water and furiously swirl it back and forth until all the chunks were vanquised. and basically my main question resulting from all of this is is there anything special i should now do that you guyses could suggest that would help me retain the vitality of my gearbox should it be in any way destroyed. as of today it still works fine and i have been oiling it riligiously. any suggestions to aid me/possible problems i may incur?

before you dip it in water, try compressed air.

I would not put WD40 inside of a mechbox. Silicone oil, hot water and soap.
The soap removes the crap, the hot (not boiling) water removes the soap and dries fast. Then the silicone oil protects the rest. That works on any gun, real or airsoft, from muskets on to assault rifles. |

I have to ask, but... did you get the smell out? That thing sort of has to be right next to your face a little too often. I think you need to punch your friend. |

I think this thread should be put into the Solutions section now that it's solved.

Beat him up and tell him to clean it for you. With your superivsion of course.
Hot water with dish cleaning soap such as Sunlight, Ivory etc would get rid of the smell and desinfect it. Thats all you need really. |

well thats why i have oiled it 5+ times since cleaning it to keep any rubber pieces from drying and its not like i let them soak in the water for long it was really only about 30 seconds of exposure. basically i said fuck it if the piston or piston head dries out ill just buy a new one (plus that would give me an excuse to upgrade my gun). no the gun does not smell the bleach and water took care of that, it just smells like new plastic now. the worst part was the stock though and it had me quite worried, since it is aside folding it got into the hinge and button plates (those of you who are familiar with the g36 stock will know what i mean). i did make my friend clean the carpet and the wall but i wouldnt let him clean my guns even under my supervision, i wanted to make sure it was doen right. my famas was also hit in the 'explosion' but not nearly as bad and i didnt rally care as much seeing as it has shit the bed a while ago anyways. and of course for revenge i drew a ***** on his face with the caption "Come to Pen Island" and on one leg i wrote "I love men" and on the other leg i wrote "Coboy buts make me muts" i was trying to say "cowboy butts make me nuts" but i was rather drunk. he almost went to baseball practice the nextday without even noticing.... man would that have been great. anywho, thanks for all the input and advice from you guys, next time i will remember the bucket.
