I need to buy a replacmnet spring guide for my TM P90.
What other version spring guide will work in a verison 6 gear box.

Parts that are unique to the TM P90 are as follows

1. Cylinder
2. bushings
3. motor
4. barrel
5. cylinder head
6. nozzle
7. tappet

Universal Parts

1. gears
2. spring
3. piston
4. piston head
5. shims

Does anyone have any feedback or corrections.

First off, any v2 spring guide (EXCEPT GUARDER!) will fit a v6 gearbox.

Second of all, the cylinder and barrel are not unique to the P90.

Aren't the bushings the same for the Thompson as well? Can't quite remember.

Yes, both Thompson and P90 use V6 mechboxes.

Huti, not all parts come labelled "P90," for example there is no P90- or V6-specific spring guide.

Also, the piston is debate-able. From Marui, the piston is missing one tooth, although many people run v2/3 pistons fine and with no problem in their v6 gearboxes.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is there a list of parts and their compatible gear box versions?
I spend alot of time researching the forums and reading the guides that are posted. But some information about upgrades is hard to find.

Euh... Illusion and I just told you. Gears, spring, piston, piston head, shims, barrel and cylinder are interchangeable between all V2, V3 and V6. Spring guide needs to be a V2, and if you get a Guarder you'll have to modify it. Any "long type" motor like the ones used in M16s, MP5s and G3s will work. Cylinder heads, tappet plates, stopper rails and bushings are V6-specific, and are sometimes labelled Thompson, but they'll work in the P90 too. The nozzle is the only truly P90-specific part.

The peg holes in the v6 gearbox are round. Even a bone stock marui v2 spring guide won't easily fit, but it will with a bit of fidgeting and mashing in there.

Guarder v2 spring guides most DEFINITELY will not fit as they're shaped like the Marui spring guide's pegs (square) unless you modify the gearbox or spring guide.

Unless Guarder has very recently changed their design and I'm not aware of it...

are the pegs on the guarder still square?
Check the peg holes on the P90 gearbox... the several that I've upgraded (mine included) had round peg holes.

Usually, square doesn't go into round...

I just finished my upgrade I decide on the Deep Fire Spring Guide

Deep Fire Version 2 Brass Spring Guide with bearings
Note: The version 6 gearbox does not have round peg holes it has flatten peg hole and the stock spring guide has flatten pegs. That said a version 2 spring guide with round pegs will work.

I decided to install the below parts at the same time more for endurance than any other reason.

Deep Fire - Reinforced Half Tooth Piston
Note: I Compared the teeth with a TM stock piston the both have exactly the same number of teeth and have the same spacing between teeth.
Systema Metal Bushings Set for the P90 w/Anti reversal Latch
Systema Metal Shim Set
Note: Shimming helical gears was pretty easy due to fact gears will bind or not turn if they are off by one shim / shim size.
Systema Helical Genuine Ratio Gears Hardened Steel
Note: I went with Helical because is was twenty dollars more and I wanted to see if the gears sounded different.
It was a pleasant surprise to hear an almost purring sound when firing on full auto. The Helical gears really do reduce noise from the gear box and I will never go back to flat gears again.
Systema Area 1000 Polycarbonate Piston Head
Note: Disposable
Systema M100
Note: Due to CQB field rules M100 or equivalent is the maximum spring allowed.
I am considering on dropping a M120 for outdoor play at a different field.
Guarder Tappet Plate for P90
Guarder Enhance Cylinder Note: Shiny and Real Smooth
Note: I bought the Enhanced Cylinder Set but I did not use the piston or the aluminum piston head. I did try to use the piston head bearings but it was a tight fit in the Deep Fire Piston and so they would not turn. This was because the reinforced tooth insert when installed provides a fat surface inside the piston.
Guarder Double O-ring Cylinder Head Stainless Steel
Note: Had to push the Cylinder head through the cylinder due to a edge on the clyinder. Not sure if was by design by guarder but it will but blow out that is for sure.
Guarder O-ring Air Nozzle
Prometheus P90 247mm Barrel - 6.03mm Tight Bore
