Silencer for KJW M700 *Updated*
*Original Post*
I wanted to know what I need for my silencer and whether it would fit, then bought a KA treaded muzzle and surpressor for my M700 UPDATE #1: After a prolong period spent at customs, my treaded muzzle and silencer finally arrived (Thanks Jugglez) Upside: It FITS!!! And the M700 looks REALLY hot with the added surpressor. Downside: Accuracy blows....and I mean I can't get a grouping at all through 4 mags, they were just flying everywhere (with the surpressor off, it's fine). Approximate size of grouping would be around 30cm apart from 40ft away comparing to a 1-2" grouping with the surpressor off. I was using 0.3g Straight BBs as well as Excel 0.25g, both yield similar inaccuracy. I'll spend more time playing around with it after my trip to Taipei. I'm beginning to suspect the gas coming out of the barrel actually deviates the BB from its original path inside the surpressor. (Without a surpressor, the excess gas would usually go around and spread in the air to avoid deviating the BBs.) |

90% of the "noise" (very little, like a solid poof!) on the M700 comes from the muzzle. Get the adaptor and put on a good looking supressor, that'll cut it back a fair bit. Not sure if the supressor will affect the accuracy/consistancy though. One of our boys put the adaptor on his M700 and had left his supressor at home, so he tossed on teh Mk23 SOCOM supressor to show off to us. He found the accuracy went to shit with it on, but was fine with it off. Dunno. I'd like to put a supressor on my M700, but want to find out if it screws up the accuracy first.

The M700 I had was silent as a moth. Of course I was never downrange of it ever, does it actually make a noise loud enough to warrent a silencer?

If you get a 40mm diameter suppressor it probably won't effect accuracy. I could see lesser diameter causing a few problems (maybe....possibly).
In the bottom pic, you can see that the bast of gas would hit the foam and frame of the suppressor. This could cause riccochet of the gas to hit the bb's in some odd way. I would say, the larger the diameter, the less effect the blast riccochet would have on the BB... The foam would absorb some of it, but with a smaller diameter, it would have less absorbant benefits. The blast would penetrate through the foam quicker. Larger diameter suppressors would have thicker foam. Regardless, im sure there wouldnt be too much of a difference with one and one without a suppressor. Maybe im just thinking too hard....

Nice drawing dozer  I won't settle for a silencer no smaller then 2.5inchs in diameter

Thanks for the explaination Dozer, it makes perfect sense to me. Also, does length matter in silencers? (Besides that I can put a longer tightbore barrel if I wanted to later on) CDN_Stalker, if I end up getting the silencer, I'll keep you posted on the accuracy factor. I'll try to put my order in with the King Arms group order happening in part/accessories along with mags for my CA. (Thanks for all your help so far) |

Dude why are you quoting someone else and putting my name for the source?
OPS Inc (Real Steel Silencers) they make a 2.5" .40 Caliber Silencer for the Cheytac M200 but its for a fatass round. |

I'm still debating between a 245mm, 290mm and 335mm silencer that King Arms offer, it cost $33, $40, and $45 respectively. I was thinking of the 335mm, but worry about it being too long, so might settle with the 290mm. Any recommendation in terms of cosmetic looks? |

No airsoft company makes silencers in that diameter AFAIK. I largest I've seen is 1.5" area.

I guess i'll be lifting this from the dead.
Had the same accuracy problem with the M700 after mounting a longer silencer onto it. By removing the end cap on the silencer, accuracy is retained and you get to keep your silenced effect. Only problem I've had with this, is that the foam inserts will fly out after 3-4 shots. I just put a little bit of tape where the thread is, and things seem to work pretty good.
