Query: Known G&G UMG issues
Anybody know any common problems found in G&G UMG's? Im ordering one, but it says it has some double feeding issues. I've been told that it could be induced by putting the 100%of the rounds in the clip, so the spring is overloaded. However i was just wondering if it has a bad hop up alignment or anything. Ill post in Drs Corner once it arrives.

Just going to say one is for sale on ASC right now, might save you some cash. Unless you are buying that one, but you said ordering, so I assume from a retailer.
As far as the question goes, little info is out there right now, but what I've read there are no issues with it to date. |

UMP is a sexy beast, even if it looks a bit ugly.

The UMP is a god among men.Its like the desert eagle of SMG's, with that crazy .45 caliber round. HK design is practically an art form. Besides-the fact thats its ugly says it loud in clear. "Im only here for business"

There are issues with the G&G UMG. It is due to the tappet being of an inferior design for this gun. If you go to G&G's website, they have a tutorial on the problem and their "redesigned" tappet to solve these issues.
They were giving away free upgrade tappets with the purchase of a hi-cap mag, but that was last fall so I have no idea if they are still doing it. Your gun sounds a little like one I worked on last fall. It wouldn't feed most of the time and this was form new. It turned out that the sector gear was shimmed so as to miss the tappet on each revolution. The one you're buying may have this issue as well, but the sector gear engages the tappet some, if not most, of the time. Repeated use like that would lead to a tappet failure and I advise you to get someone to look at it ASAP. Reshimming may be all that is required. Also, turn your hop-up off and test fire some bb's. Ive seen this be an issue too many times in all kinds of guns. Guys think "OMG, my guns screwed" only to have the hop-up on too much and the bb jams up in the chamber. It's worth a try anyways.
