Read the Reviews section. Read the Information section. Then check the Teams and the Games/events sections to find local players and maybe even see/try guns in person before dropping lots of cash.

Arnies Airsoft tends to have lots of reviews too.

Most of what you probably need to know is already on this website, dont be afraid to explore. It will save you (and us) lots of typing.

Well, my friend got a the G&G GR16-A4-CARBINE awhile ago from DEA. The thing seems pretty awesome. I don't know how high quality the metal build is though, might just be like a poorman's metal, I'm not sure, because when he just got it, one of the first things he noticed was a totally cracked front tab where the body-pin would be. Common problem it seems though.

I have 2 G&G's and love em. The very first day I had my carbine I ran into a wall while running and just scratched some paint off of it. Very durable guns.

They are light compared to other metal version M4's. Reciever is made of magnesium alloy. I have a 1st batch G&G GR16-R4 and performs crap on first but when I got the faulty parts fixed. Now it performs like a beast. Newer version G&G's M4 is better or improved from what I hear.

The G&G I had was an awesome piece.

The hop-up needed work before it functioned properly, and I'm sure (as with many many guns) some of the internals could be a trade-off for metal content and build, but in the long run, it could end up being less of a headache. (than buying a TM, say, and upgrading over time)

I like the G&G for simplicity of maintenance on the barrel/hop-up and because it takes down in a few seconds.

I hear G&P is similar, but with better trademarks.

I haven't got much to add about the reliability/quality of internals though ... Simply because I don't know.
