Glocks, which is best?

I am considering buying the KSC Glock G19 Heavy Weight Version at Spec Arms Airsoft online. I hear nothing but good things in many reviews online, but I want to get you guys opinion on whether it is a good buy as it is without upgrading right away.

ABS is a type of plastic... i dont know what it stands for. as for reviews: Search ( plus we have a section dedicated to them

ABS= plastic version... by buying this gun in its abs version you are confined in what gas you can use, which is mainly duster. There are versions out there with a metal slide pre-installed I recommend purchasing that. But you can always buy a metal slide later.

Glocks are very reliable. Brian the coordinator of TTAC3 (an indoor airsoft arena) has been using glocks (with metal slide) as rentals. You do not want to know how people treat them and how many shots have gone through these guns, and still it shoots like a beast.

And as a side note, please use more descrive thread titles that are actually related to the subject at hand. Something along the lines of "Some help choosing a Glock 19" is infinitely more descriptive than "I NEED HELP!" because nowadays, it feels like every newbie that wanders onto this site claims to need help.

KSC G19 all the way. As far as being confined to what gas you use, not always the case. My stock G19 has had about 3000-4000 shots using propane fired through it and no wear yet. Just recently I put a metal threaded outer barrel in it, and an enhanced recoil spring, so it's not quite stock anymore, but still has the original slide on it. My other G19 is fully upgraded and fires like a dream.

I'd suggest this: Buy your KSC G19 (you are fine to get the Taiwan version, as it's identical to the Japan version, only difference being the Japan ones go through a second QC check........... according to legend anyways. I have one of each and can't find any difference except price), and spend the money, $10-15, on an enhanced recoil spring. It will absorb a bit more of the power propane provides when pushing the slide back, further cushioning it. Shouldn't find any wear that way. Some people claim their stock ABS GBBs break within the first 100 shots using propane, others (like me) haven't had any problems at all for thousands of shots. All I can honestly say is....... luck of the draw.

my ksc g19 is my favorite sidearm that i own. i love the size, weight, feel and sweet recoil. when you get the metal slide and barrel you will be in heaven. :-D

Just out of curiosity does anyone know what pieces will break on the ABS plastic guns? Is it the slide?

its a good gun. i bought one from spec arms a month ago. the hw frame gives you that "i cant believe its not plastic" feeling. the cheapest metal slide i have seen is $125 CAD (slide + barrel) so thats pretty good, replacing it wont be too expensive.

KWA is identical to KSC except for 2 things;

- KWA has no trade marks
- KWA comes with metal slide (not cheap abs), which allows for the safe use of propane right out of the box ($150 value!!!)

And for $195 CND you wont find it anywhere any cheaper than that! I have one and its awesome!!! Just to clarify.... Unless you want the trademarks (I could care less) then go with the KWA. Its made by the same people as the KSC guns but its designed for the Taiwanese market where there allowed the use of green/propane. (only 134a is allowed in Japan, hence the cheap abs slides)

what i dont understand with the metal slide version is that it weights the exact same as the abs version (740g) so is the metal slide that light?

The metal slide is quite heavy compared to the ABS one. I guess it all depends on which metal slide you get (G&G uses poor metal, at least on the G&G threaded outer barrel I bought, it's super light).

Re: KWA G19, it also doesn't come with the same HW frame as the KSC G19 does. At least not what's been said on here numerous times.

Actually I think it's the metal gun parts that are banned in Japan; pretty sure they didn't ban propane :P
