Please help me decide. TM M4s or G&P M4A1
Hey this is my first airsoft gun, and i've been doing research over the past month trying to decide which gun to get. I've narrowed it down to the TM M4s or the G&P M4A1. The M4s has SIR and its TM, which from what I hear is a very good brand. But the G&P M4A1 is full metal and has upgraded parts. They are both the same price (680). I would have to add parts to the G&P so I could put scopes/ect on it, while the TM is ready for scopes out of the box.
Any suggestions? I am tempted by full metal, but I don't know if its worth having to purchase the SIR afterwards to make it like the M4. Please don't flame i've already gone through and read tons of posts about the guns but I just can't find a good compairson. |

I thought I needed a Rail system to put a scope on. The G&P has one already? haha didn't know that.

really.... actually this debate is a recurring one that has been touched upon in the past. you will find many threads listing the pros and cons of each. before i purchased my m4 i did the same research which led be to my TM m4 purchase. maybe not full metal but good internals and a reliable overall AEG. |

Well The place I go to play here in calgary has all TM. The only ones that arn't broken are the Sig 552s and the G36Cs. The M4's are all beat to hell, barrell wobble is horrible, and they always stop shooting. Mind you they have probably been through lots of abuse because they are rentals, but I can't get over the whole plastic feeling of TM. Thats why I was more interested in the G&P. Now that I know the G&P comes scope ready right outa the box, i'm a little more pro G&P. I could use any more input though. I do want to eventually put a SIR on my G&P so it at least looks like the M4s. Thats another 290 bucks though.

Given the selection of full metal guns on the market today, I see absolutely no reason to purchase a Marui M16-series rifle anymore. Your only pros with a TM gun are the battle-tested internals that are proven to be reliable when stock. However it's simpler and less costly to take a full metal gun like a G&P or CA and make its internals on par with a TM gun, than it is to make a TM gun as strong and nicely finished as a full metal G&P/CA.

Given the selection of any series gun made in a full metal model, I see no reason for wasting money on TM at all. They need to get on par with the rest of the market as they are soon to be left behind once people finnaly catch on that just about any gun TM makes, there is a full metal and/or upgraded one out there already that is either on par of only requires minumal work to be on par.
Again I still can't fathom why in the hell people waste so much money with TM. They are a rip off. You get the bare minimal in a plastic body. They don't even make an A3 lower reciever style MP5 but yet you still see people wasting hundreds to buy something (like I did) that is full metal, upgraded and comes in more models out of the box. All of CA's NEW series of guns well as many other brands are just as good as TM and usually always better and better value. There is no question about it Dagjoe, buy the G&P. Do not be a fool and buy TM bare minimum, the rest of the world is realizing this, it's time for us Canadaians to do so as well. |
