LiPo Battery charger
Hello all,
Just recently got into using LiPo battery. I have a 2 cell 7.4v. When i plug it in to charge, the only green light on my charger that lights up is for "Cell 3" despite it being a 2 cell battery. Does this indicate anything? Battery is new and used once. |

You probably have a basic charger with 3 red/green light indicators . Since you're hooking up a 2 cell, only cell 1 and cell 2 should light up red while charging. cell 3 should always be green since there is no resistence. If you charge a 3 cell 11.1v battery, the light for cell1,2,3 will all light red when charging. All green indicates done charging

so the fact that as soon as I plug it in - only cell 3 lights up. no matter how long I had it on, cell 1 & 2 stayed red.
Is it safe to assume the battery is dead/dying? |

It's safe to say it is time to buy a smart charger
For obvious safety reasons |

Is what I have not considered a smart charger? It was advertised as such for LiPo's..
Any recommendations for chargers? I'll be returning to buy extra LiPo anyhow. Edit: This is what I purchased with the LiPo http://www.valken.com/Charger-Valken...Cell-Lipo-Life Last edited by CyanideApple; October 17th, 2018 at 02:15.. Reason: added charger link |
