TM shotshells shoot 3 bbs. When you pump it, it loads 3 bbs into 3 inner barrels. There is a way to mod it so you can pump it more than once and load more BBs though.

shotguns are cool, but shooting 3 bbs per pump/shot just far from enough

It's got about the same spread as a real shotgun, and they're damn effective if you have any aim.

they are good, i have used one, you don't really have to aim much as the bb's spread out making it easier to hit someone. the only downside is you have to count how many shots you have taken so you know when to reload. but that can be avoided if you adapt the shell to a "hi-cap" basicly you mod a shell to have a hi cap mag hanging from the bottom, then you just shoot, and not worry about how many you are shootin. theres a guide to that mod somewhere, I can't remember though, maybe one of the other guys know.

I own an M3, and I certainly DONT feel left out of games when I use it. It's simple, dependable, has decent range. Simply put, it works. It's great in brush woods or CQB situations. Does it match an upgraded AEG? No. Is it shit? No. To answer the original question; think of the shotshell like a magazine instead. It loads 3 rounds at a time in the 3 barrels. So it's a small 10-shot magazine. |

rs i believe shoot atleast 10 per shot, when it shoot too little bbs per shot (1-3) it just doesnt feel right to me for the definition of shotgun, it sure is cool, but i think at least 5bbs per shot for airsoft would be nicer

back on topic yes, shotguns may have some purpose. But they simply dont have enough firepower to be usefull. Even in CQB, they are to large to pit against a good GBB. With some of the newer GBBs(sig and hi-capa) that are deadly accurate, the shotgun doesnt have any real advanatge. In the field or bush, a TM shotgun simply doesnt cut it. I have never been killed by a shotgun. Reloading is slow, range is that of a stock gun or less. Dont expect to use it against an AEG unless you have skills like Jesus, an AEG on semi will cut you down in no time. The TM ones are very plastic, feel/look fake and have been known to jam. Marushin makes the full metal gas shotgun. It has excellent range and awsome power. and you can load more the 3 BBs.... But $$$ |

I have used a bunch of assorted shotguns, and aside from the marushin M500, I wouldnt touch any of them....especially the TM ones. I think you'd be better using harsh language or a straw and a BB. |

I was behind a shed of some sort at the beginning of the game... when it started I peaked out and raised my rifle to shoot... The battery went bad again, I decocked it (ICS) and tried again, it would not turn over. I set the gun against a tree and take out a clear springer, the Walmart kind, then I look out again... I see the guy I was shooting at was hit. I slowly peak out from behind the shed and see the remaining guy left, with a TM AK behind a tree not far away, I was in his sites. After going around the shed to try and find a good place, I see a small plastic box type thing, maybe a breaker box... it was about 3 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide... but it was between the him and me. I slowly crept towards it, knowing well that he knew where I was. Ping Ping! Shots bounced off the shed and I ducked my head, moving slowly towards it, then as I come nearer... he moves to the left and I move to the right to again block his shot. Then as I approch the box it shakes and I hit the ground as a rain of fire falls apon it. It stopped, I popped my head up and shot, he was no more than 25 feet from me, I missed. I ducked down again after shots rang out. It stopped again and I stuck my gun up, 'Pop!' He called his hit and I stood... I had beaten him... though I was using a Walmart springer and only had 5 shots, I took two and hit him... he was standing there shocked, as was the other that had went down before. I was 2/3 his age. He had an TM AEG, I a Daisy springer, the bastard child of Crosman, yet I had won.... |

Kid, in your case it was all luck, or maybe the TM AEG guy was newbie. Also, I believe that Crosman/Daisy shotguns shoot one BB per shot/pump. Ruin the purpose/definition of shotgun? imo yes.
