Selection of metal gas/spring pistols
I’m in the market for a gas or spring metal pistol. I was hoping that some of you could maybe suggest what is available that fits my criteria. Gas or Spring does not matter to me, neither does manufacturer. But it needs to be metal, or at least partly metal (like the Glocks that the top half and barrel are metal).
Thanks. |

The selection is vast, as a simple search would tell you. But since you've already asked... What's your price range?

In the range of $200 Canadian. That might seem cheap but performance is not an issue, in all honesty it does not even need to work.

What exactly do you need it for?

I need it for several things, but mainly for display purposes (like a plaque) which is why I need one that is metal so it looks real. About a year or maybe a bit more I bought a Glock 17 that’s upper half was metal off the Airsoft Canada forums for about 60$ Canadian. So if I can repeat that I would love to do so, but I can go higher in price as well. |

Well considering there are no metal spring pistols, you are left with metal gas pistols. Which run over $200 CAD.

Putting a Replica on display can land you in all kinds of legal hell. It's your life, your choice.

Treat them like the real thing; locked away out of sight. |

There is no requirement to lock them away out of sight in my own home. You can hang them up on your wall, have them in a case, under your bed or even lying around on your kitchen table if you want. None of that is illegal. |

actually it is illegal. go to www.cfc.gc.ca this is the canadian firearms center website and they lay out for you the rules of possessing, storing and transporting "replica" firearms. if it doesn't shoot any projectiles whatsoever, then it is DEFINATELY a replica and outright banned. the only thing that keeps airsoft guns currently "off the radar" so to speak is that they DO fire projectiles than can and do cause bodily injury. the agency responsible for enforcement of the replica law is the cfc and they say that if it fires harmful projectiles, it ceases to be a replica. now as far as the rcmp, or in your case the opp is concerned, they don't care if it fires projectiles or not as the actual criminal code does not make this distinction. if you are caught with one and the authorities decide to charge you for either improper storage or possession, the only way out is to get the cfc to side with you at trial. it has happened before, but your cfo for your region may not be as understanding as ours has been out west. but like greylocks said, it's your decision. we can only point you in the right direction.

Cant firearms be displayed in a LOCKED display case? I belive trigger locks are also required.
Oh and from what people are saying - if I break one of my guns, and it stops shooting, it is now a replica? Cheers, Alex |
