especially when doing online transactions, there is the chance that what you receive may be fake, although highly unlikely to be fake if the seller has trusted ratings.

I made a few purchases, two of which do not come in their original packaging with the papers. these are some lasers and lights. to some of you it might not be a big deal but what if you need certain documents for warranty?

just wondering if anyone of you feel sketched out or worry about the proper papers. the anxiety part is getting the better of my every time, so I'd like some assurance from your experiences.

as long as you are not buying registered firearm parts, ie frames and lower receivers, that requres a PAL, its perfectly fine

I'm talking about places such as ASC, CGN, or AR15 from the US side. basically open online forums with an exchange community.

well not those, but things like flashlights, stocks, etc.

I mean of course buying 2nd hand means they are heavily discounted and most probably aren't out there to scam, but what happens when the item breaks through use and you don't have the papers to warranty?

Uhh, do be aware that some parts are ITAR and can't actually be shipped here; they'd be breaking the law if they do.

As for your concern, same thing with ASC forums; buyer beware.

There ISN'T going to be a guarantee or a warranty (sometimes there may be but I highly doubt it'd be honoured up here in Canada if it's a USA warranty); if it dies, it's up to you to decide what to do with it (either repair it or junk it and buy another or something else).

If it's an unconditional lifetime warranty (like Vortex offers), it's usually got a serial code that they can authenticate and they'll walk you through the RMA process. But those are rare and few and far in between unless you pay a premium.

ITAR is USA specific, they'd be breaking their own laws. If a US citizen were to send an ITAR item and it made it through, then the onus is on them!

Yes, I know. That's what I said, no...? Maybe I wasn't clear. But yes, you are correct.

As I drunkly read it, you implied to be careful of the law, a USA specific law! If a US citizen wanted to try and export an ITAR item, he or she would be in conflict of the law, not the receiving party. The governing agency/body would only have jurisdiction inside the united states, and it would be up to the CBSA/RCMP to investigate who is receiving said goods, and interpreting how they are using them!

Why are you buying real accessories to put on fake toy guns that you have no intent to game? Get your PAL and do this with a real gun... go take it to a range once in a while.

The first lesson is if there is any doubt; there is no doubt.

The second lesson is that if a deal seems to good to be true it probably is.

You can order grips and stocks and lights. Things like R/S PEQ's might be ITAR I don't know don't quote me on that.

I've ordered a LMT stock from the Us no problem. DD forwards grips. I know people that have grabbed Surefire lights from the US.
