ics, ares or g&g

After spending the last few months playing with my g&g raider it's time to move on up, Il still be keeping the raider as it works flawlessly and is a solid extra gun to have around.

I am currently in the 300-400 dollar range on a cqb style m4.
And my three choices are
Ics m4s
Ares honey badger
Or the g&g wild hog

My only big issue with the raider is the ROF, even with a new motor.

So I'm just wondering not out of the 3 what you guys would suggest.im.looking for a gun I can keep for a few years and keep building internally.

I have the ics cxp uk1 short barrel, which for me has worked great, shoots great, easy to clean and take apart, split gear box is awesome. I have an indoor upper gearbox (shoots between 300-315fps) an an outdoor one (shoots 400fps) i can make the switch in less than a minute. Over all extremely happy with it.

For 300-400 range, VFC the best. Uppercanadatactical sells them in that range

No experience with vfc but they are known to be quality. But from the product brands listed I own a ics cxp16 l and it's a great rifle. Get tons of comments on how it runs every time I take it out.

VFC is what I would pick up with a 400$ budget. I have 3 LOL. You can get the older E series model's (and some of the newer VR16's) at certain retailers for around the 400$ mark. Even Lower than that for some of the compact models Like the stinger and Dagger.

I have the same gun and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Excellent piece of kit.

Coming from someone who has owned over 20 aeg's ranging from 200-1000+$ each get a ics Cxp uk1 short.
It's out of box performance is better than most 600$+ aegs out there.

I would recommend the ics, bought it over a year ago and it shoots beautifully even after all the abuse i put it thru, easy to clean, easy to service. Plus the split gearbox design makes it easy to buy a second uppergear box so that u can quickly switch between lower fps for indoor and higher fps for outdoor.

add money and go up to vfc, ares and g&g are not great choices in this price range unless you want the look of the honeybadger. I also don't like ics because they have a shitty hopup unit that is proprietary and those split gearboxes can be finicky.

i may be late to the party but here is my two cents:
go for VR-16 stinger. it costs about 414$CAD which is not far from your budget and it worth every penny. it is small for CQB, runs smoothly and holding it alone feels nicer than holding Jessica Johansson in your arms.

I have owned a G&G TR418, an Ares Honeybadger and several ICS guns (including the UK1).

G&G was basic and for a first decent lvl gun it served me well.

The Honeybadger was a dream. Never let me down. My 2nd favorite gun.

ICS UK1 (had a CXP16L as well) - By FAR the best bang for my buck. Just overall excellent quality and the split gearbox was awesome to work on.

I now own a CYMA AK. Heavier than the others but rock steady. I still miss my ICS but AKs are very nice guns in their own right.
