Best modern MG to polar star?

As the title says, I am looking at building a MG kit. Specifically looking to run it on a polar star engine or anything similar if available.

Can anyone suggest some brands/models that would be good and/or compatible with a polar star engine? I am primarily looking for modern day machine guns, not world war replicas.

Box mags, fake bullets and the like.

***EDIT***

Question primarily is looking for what are some of the best externally looking modern day (m249, mk ect) machine guns.

Personal preference imho.

The lightest I've held was a Stoner 63 from G&P with a P* engine.

Heaviest P* I've held was a PKM.

Well I guess the question then morphs into...

What is the best looking EXTERNALLY? I like the Mk or m249 style. I am looking for the best looking externals and quality build.... not to concerned with the internals...as I will be gutting it and putting in a polar star anyway.

Does a M240 (ie. Echo 1 or Inokatsu) count as modern to you? Another option would be the Krytac LMG, but then that will go into the grey zone of stuff like the MG36 or RPK.

G&P M249 takes a V2 P*
They make a drop in kit for the CA249 as well, but the G&P is better.

Daytona is my recommendation. Daytona LMGs are beasts and perform very well. The m249 kit is very good and drops into CA/A&K m249.

If you like M249s I would recommend the CA over the G&P. There are more options for after-market (and much improved) hop-up units and box mags for the CA. The CA is much less expensive and much easier to find used than the G&P (used is a good option because all you care about is the externals).

Most of the G&P parts (stocks, feed trays, bipods) fit the CA so you can improve the externals if you wish (I added the G&P feed tray because the latch mechanism is far easier to use than the CA). I don't believe the G&P outer barrels are compatible with the CA SAW because the CA has a very nicely designed quick release barrel which mimics the real thing while I believe the G&P outer barrel is only removable with tools. This may not seem like a big deal but a removable outer barrel is a very very handy feature to have.

The bipods on the CA and the G&P M249s are both garbage (flimsy and in your way most of the time).

Be prepared to carry a big HPA tank (4500 psi and 90-110 in^3) and at least one spare because you are going to be putting a lot of rounds down range. A P* SAW is a wrecking machine which you will thoroughly enjoy and the OPFOR will hate.

G&P uses a standard V2 mechbox that uses all standard V2 parts, including an analog trigger so you can actually use a mosfet.
There's no NEED to upgrade the stock AUG hop chamber on the G&P, unlike the crappy CA stock hop chamber.
Box mags are easy to find for the G&P, and they use the superior/more reliable centerline feed instead of mag well feed. You can also use the ARES nutsacks if you want 100rnd pouches. And best part is the box mags don't have floppy mag well feeds attached to them so you can actually stuff a 200rnd box in a 200rnd pouch.
G&P barrel is held in with an easily accessible set screw, but I've only ever had to remove it when taking the mechbox out.
Bipod on the G&P is much tougher than the one on the CA
Tougher externals all round
RS weight (if you care about realism)
Battery goes in the box mag
Can't break the reinforced carry handle
Best safety of any LMG ever (you unplug the battery where it goes into the feed tray)
Can use any drop in HPA kit or V2 P* FE
Or you can set it up like mine where it uses only 8BB/mah (that's about 350mah per box mag), and is ridiculously reliable (over 200k rounds, zero mechbox failures)
By the time you upgrade all the externals of a CA to G&P, it costs as much as the G&P anyway

But the CA is cheaper and you can put a daytonagun kit in it.

Yah I am thinking I will probably go with the Daytona kit just as it also provides recoil. All my guns are GBB....so this is a huge plus.

With that in mind.....

Should I put a Daytona kit in a CA m249 or a G&P?

I just want an outlook on availability of GOOD BOX mags (must have the fake rounds) aka they FEED properly, and the external look and ruggedness of the LMG itself. I am not interested in mech boxes, or batteries and the like since it will be gutted.

At this point I feel like I cant go wrong with either the CA or the G&P, and as I will probably be buying used, Ill grab whatever comes up first for a good price.

***EDIT***

Looked into the daytona kits....they only specify that they fit the CA and A&K versions. Not the G&P.

I owned a m249 DG with the CA body and it was fantastic. The external quality is quite good and the internal quality of the Daytona kit is even better.

Use MAG brand nutsacks and you will have a good time.

*edit* there is a retailer in canada that carries/installs DG kits now.
