Ace 1 Arms SAI Slide kit on TM Issues
I just bought a TM Gen 3 G17 from Mach 1. I did not fire any round through it as the slide arrived a couple of days later from Airsoftdepot.
I installed the slide no problem, its fairly easy...some tricky bits but over all easy. When I test fired it, it would cycle, but bb's would just roll out of the barrel. I took it appart and restored the G17 to TM stock set up in case the TM was defective. It fired perfect. I went through two mags to be sure. So I reinstalled the Ace kit, but oiled everything that moved real well with silicon oil. I worked all the moving parts (Piston, slide etc) and then tried another mag. It shot 70% of it, with the other 30% miss feeding or rolling out the barrel...even got a slide jam from multiple bb's getting stuck in the chamber. So apart it all came again. I noticed the inner barrel was real stiff inside the outter barrel due to an o ring at the end of the outer. I tried oil...it seemed to help but still stuck a bit. So I removed it. Tried another mag...still misfeeding and misfiring. So then I puled the piston, hit the piston with a real fine grit incase there was issues with it cycling smoothly. I cleaned it up, iled everything nicely and tried another mag. Again, I got 70% fired ok. I tried another and only got about 20-30% of the rounds out. So I am at a loss here. All reviews I've seen of this kit are nothing but great. No mention of needing a harder spring (an idea a friend had) to cycle it properly or anything remotely similar to these issues. Wondering if any TM Glock Gurus out there can hit my with some knowledge.

willing to perform services in a dark alley that may or may not leave you satisfied for a title. GFE = 1, looks = 2, BBFS for an extra $50.

take the Ace 1 Arms rocket valve (marked in red) and replace it with the stock Marui one as well as the stock valve spring, if you check the Ace 1 Arms valve you will notice the tolerances are too tight causing it to get stuck and divert gas to blowback but not down the barrel.

If the inner barrel is too stiff that maybe the problem.
Inner barrel needs to be loose inside the outer barrel. If it is too tight it wont' seat very well and will cause jams, misfeeds, huge drops in FPS and other issues. Not good because this can end up breaking the nozzle if it jams up pretty bad. Actually the whole hop up needs to be nice and loose inside the outer barrel. Usually it is the hop up that is tight and not the barrel. If this is the case just work the hop up into the barrel until it loosens up enough. There are other reasons why the BB ends up rolling out. Make sure you have at least a bit of hop. If it is not that make sure the screws holding the hop up is tight and not loose. You can check to see if the hop up is fine by shooting the gun stocked and Chrono it. If its shooting consistently then the hop up is screwed on tight and has enough hop on it. Other than that I don't know what else to recommend based off the information you've provided. Biggest recommendation is just run the gun stocked lol :P Of course I know how it feels to want to bling up your gun so yhaa hope it works out for you Last edited by shelcoof; February 16th, 2016 at 22:04.. |

Thanks for the tips guys. much appreciated. Freerider, I'll give that a go. Your explanation about the gas diverting more to the slide blow back than to the bb in the chamber is pretty much bang on.
Stay tuned!

Squid Porn Superstar, I love the tentacles!

Freerider is correct. Ace1Arms Glock kits are all defective in the same way. I've assembled 4 or 5 of them.

Yeah...
Ace1Arms ain't known to be top tier quality, you want GunsModify for SAI kits. PTS ATOM is sexy too. |

Most of my builds are just basic PGC and Shooter Design slides... those slides have always dropped in with little to no issues for me. Though I'm starting to get that itch to build me a blingy Glock Just looked up the PTS stuff and it does look nice! |

Airsoft Surgeon put out a few slide and barrel kits for Salient Arms.
If you want a full meal deal though the Guns Modify is the way to go. It was a joy to build.

I prefer slides without the RMR cut out. This one looks pretty sexy.
I do love those high sights.... wish I can find a pair to mount on my "regular" slides |
