Switching AR handguards
Got a quick question for the gurus. Looking at getting a wire cutter style handguard for my krytac and wondering if there is different size/pitch threads from one company to the next? Was looking at an angry gun wire cutter ris.

It should be universal, the description should tell you if it's for an AEG or gbbr

Well that's where I'm confused the defiance rail on my kry is held on by pressure from 2 bolts. The defiance looks like it screws on then is locked in place. Im guessing I need to figure out what barrel nut I need

The handguard you are purchasing should come with its own proprietary barrel nut for mounting....it should state otherwise.....if in doubt contact the seller!

Further inspection you may be right St ides. I think the pictures are showing it with the barrel nut in the handguard already but isn't listed in the comes with section of any the stores I have checked. Guess Im off to send some emails!

Another tip if you will; if you can find another retailer selling the same handguard, they may have a complete package list as well as pictures of all the parts in said package separated to avoid these confusing situations when the client "you" is left wondering........also as a last tip, when asking these questions on forums like this, where we are supposed to be the guru's if you will (I'm certainly not) the more information you provide the better!
e.g. I was wondering if this handguard/rail (insert product name including manufacturer here) will fit on my Krytac without modification, or do I have to purchase additional parts?? The answer here would hopefully be that someone else on the forum has that exact handquard, and experience with it, and that they would inform you that the proprietary barrel nut is included with the handquard! Good luck, and have fun, I hope my answers helped! |
