Psg-1????
Tell me all your thoughts/experiences with the TM PSG-1. I know i want to do the sniper role and plan on buying one and upgrading it to 425 fps but i'd like to know all the little quirks or irritating aspects of it. Does it come with a tight-bore barrel or do i need to upgrade that too? Also, if you know of annother semi-auto sniper that can compare to the tm psg1 then let me know thanks.

Practically any AEG will outperform the PSG1 when they're both upgraded. Upgraded PSGs spend more time on the bench than on the field, as they're super finicky due to the complex internal design. Get one if you like the look, otherwise you'll be better off with really any other gun.

go gas. get the kjw m700. they sell for around $500 and have unbelievable power (adjustable too). the psg-1 is overpriced, underpowered, finnicky and noisy (mostly from the motion of the ejection port). not to mention flimsy (a guy last year fell and broke his in half. it took me 2 day and alot of jb weld to re-assemble it so it fired true). it's definitely not my first choice, but that's my opinion. i would do the g3-sg1 (loved mine from the first minute i had it), and you can upgrade it real easy to do whatever you want. did i mention it's a sexy gun.

Thanks guys... I had a feeling someone would recommend the SG1. My primary goal is accuracy/range so in going with the SG1, how should I upgrade it? (aside from a scope/ tightbore) I am aware that i can't make it shoot as hot as the PSG1 because it is full auto. Help me out.

If you haven't played yet keep it stock for some time. Stock SG1's probably have the best range/accuracy out of all stock AEGs I've seen so far. Upgrade is not that important, some people play with stock guns and get more "kills" than people with upgraded guns.
After you will get used to the gun and airsoft install metal bushings, PDI150%, aftermarket spring guide and tightbore. That's probably all you need. P.S Check out upgrades section, there is a thread there dedicated to proper upgdaring of guns.

666 hit it on the head, try it stock for a while, but really, a PDI150 and tightbore would be fab as far as performance, and then obviously the beefing up aspects (bushings, possibly gears, and spring guide), I'm also a fan of aftermarket pistons after a time as well, something to consider. But keep it stock to get a feel for it at least.

Right on... yeah i've played a fair bit with similar TM stock aeg's and know pretty bang on what i'm going for with performance, just not exactly how to get there.... sounds like I need to post a new thread over in the upgrades section.

As for needed upgrades, like I said all you really need is bushings, pdi150% spring, tightbore and ball bearing spring guide, everything else can be left stock if you don't want to spent money on aftermarket parts. Those upgrades will bring your gun to around 400FPS. It might go over 400 a little bit since you will have longer barrel (my AK with above upgrades shoots at 390-400fps with .2s) I've also noticed that stock gears, piston, cylinder and piston head work just great, I actually had problems with aftermarket pistons, switched back to stock TM parts and my gun is working without any problems ever since. If you don't go over pdo150% with 8.4 batt stock piston, piston head and gears will handle it just fine. I used to own a gun which had 99% Systema internals and reinforced mechbox. My current "mostly TM" inside gun works as good as fully upgraded one.
