JPC vs. 6094

Looking into getting a plate carrier and am torn between the two formats.

What are the pros/cons of each.

I know the JPC is smaller/lighter but I would be giving up retail, but then I ask myself "Do I need all that extra space?"....

Suggestions/Feedback?

The molle real estate is similar, the 6094 has a bit more.
the JPC is smaller, an lighter. but in turn offers less protection in a way.
the cummerbund is great on the JPC for the really hot days, allows better airflow.
I love my JPC though.

Any particular brands you looking at?

It really depends on your setup. If you're not carrying a lot, JPC will do just fine. Otherwise, 6094 will be more comfortable for heavier setups.

The JPC is very bare bones, but at just under one pound naked can carry all the gear you need it to. It's very comfy, very well made and very ergonomic. The 6094 is very well made and though I haven't played around with one myself, I know a few guys who've moved on from them. It just wasn't what they wanted for comfort.

Have you considered the HGPC? I have one of those and am loving it. It's lightweight, well made, extremely comfortable, very ergonomic and packed with innovation. It's like the JPC with more diverse real-estate, cable routing, exchangeable cummberbund styles, internal pouches including a kangaroo addition, quick release plates, etc, etc.

I lean towards lighter loads these days... less gear, less shit to haul. Really what more do you need than mags and a couple utility pouches and a water carrier attached to your pc?

Same. But honestly, a lighter/lower-profile style rig will still hold 24 hours or more of gear, if you have the right pouches and weight distribution. As long as you don't get a sports bra style.

Rather then start a new post I thought it would make sense to continue here.

I am leaning towards the JPC setup as its lighter and doesn't lose much in terms of space over the 6094.
Now, next question: is it odd to have say a FG coloured carrier with CB or Khaki pouches?

No. I did it and it look good IMO.

Have no worry about the JPC. Our team use it. We are 12 guys using it and though it's small, it can carry everything we need. We just put the rest in a small backpack or on a belt.
