Noveske NSR 13.5" Keymod rail from Airsoftstore.ca
Reivewing this --> Noveske NSR rail
Just recently picked this up as I wanted a clean rail for a simple AR build. Loved the look of the Noveske NSR rails. Looked around and decided to pick up the rail from Airsoftstore.ca It arrived quickly after ordering it and I went right to work installing it on my VFC M4. Once I got it on I noticed that this is WAY off. It has a slope down from the body of the gun to the end of the rail. The outer barrel sits off to the left when looking down the gun from the top with the end of the rail pointed away. The edges of the top rail are sharp and slightly higher then that on the VFC body. The inside of the rail has small little ridges (I am assuming for strength as the rail is very thin), none of which are evenly cut. I went with this as I have bought from airsoftstore.ca in the past and never had issues. The description even stated "Quite simply the most accurate replica of the Noveske NSR rail on the market.". I would hate to see the other rails if this is the most accurate rail on the market. Its on my gun but I am not impressed. I will try to get pictures to outline what I am describing. |

Curious... is this the Madbull NSR? I'd assume the licensed Madbull rail would be the most accurate one out there.
That said, I know there's a few other clone NSR's out there which I'm been on and off about getting, one of which I know is definitely not an accurate NSR clone from a review I found elsewhere.

I have been using the BD one sold at airsoftdepot and its fantastic.
every cut, edge, hole and fitment is beyond perfect. i was amazed in quality from a knock-off. the only thing i can complain about is that is has no trade marks. so I find it odd that a trademarked rail system like that one is so messed up. there's a chance its the threads on your upper that are off or the rail it self was built on a friday. The threads on my upper are perfect as the rail that came off had zero issues.

I don't think Madbull is allowed reproduced the NSR and called it a airsoft version without making changes to it to prevent it being used on a RS receiver.
Chaz, does the bottom rail have keymod holes or elongated holes? The RS version has RS keymod mounting holes at the 9, 3 and 6 o'clock positions. |

Interesting. I have that exact rail and it does not exhibit any of the symptoms you are experiencing and I have it on a VFC E-series upper and VFC OE 14.5" barrel.
I dunno man, looks pretty straight to me. And I'm pretty picky about this type of stuff. It does have keymod on the 3/6/9 o'clock positions plus it does allow for a gas tube so it's not the Madbull version. Have you tried emailing John to report your issues. I'm sure he will be able to help you out.

EOD Steve - I have not emailed John. I started filing down some of the inside to allow my Comp to fit in before I noticed how off everything was. Stupid me for not checking first. When I get home tonight I will take some pictures to show what it looks like on my VFC.

I hope you're not trying to fit a KX3 comp in there....

KX3. The little pieces that I describe above are causing clearance issues.
Not sure why those little pieces are there to be honest. None of the ones I have seen have them. KX3 & 5 should fit with no issues Last edited by chaz; January 30th, 2015 at 10:57.. |

Umm no, the KX3 and KX5 are different.
The KX3 was released quite a while before the NSR came out. The KX5 was introduced solely for the purpose of fitting inside the NSR. http://www.shopnoveske.com/products/...w-crush-washer Quote:

this rail you got is ACM not MadBull. it says so right on the website.
this one here is a madbull one. the only issues i know of with the madbull one is the top rail hight is higher by .035 inches. i have a MFR and it seems to be a common thing with all their rails.

I know it states it is ACM. My complaint is the horrible quality of it.
I will be pulling out a straight rule tonight to confirm how off the rail is with pictures. |

For the record if you guys have issues with items please let me know. Steve was kind enough to point this thread out to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have seen it.
I'll check the existing stock and report back as well on my findings. Chaz: rest assured I'll be taking care of you. Please give me a shout next time directly if you have problems. John |
