GBB Magazine Capacity
I understand why gbb magazine capacities are true to the real steel versions. I get it....gbb = realism which = real steel ammo capacities.
But for those of us that just want to make a switch over a gbb gun but want to go out and play for fun but still want the realism effect. Why not create gbb mid caps??? Especially now that gbb technology efficiency has improved quite a bit over the years. Why arent they making gbb mags that can fit 80-100 bbs? Especially now since most quality brand gbb mags such as (GHK) do not need to be refilled for 2-3 cycles of ammo. * Hint Hint..... to gbb companies if you guys made a mid cap gbb mag or even a 60-80 round magazine capacitiy. I think you would get more people moving over to a gbb gun....including myself Jusy my opinion Last edited by Caelan; December 6th, 2014 at 21:53.. |

More ammo in a GBBR mag = less space for gas = less shots...
Take your pick. Why not carry spare ammo? Or look into one of these... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnFSPd9fdvE

GBB manufacturers will never make mid-caps. If you have ever disassembled a GBB magazine, you will physically realize there is barely enough room for the bb holding area and spring to be placed. Having 30 rounds is nearly the max amount of bb's that can be placed in a GBB mag. And you are wrong about GHK mags, they only last for 1 magazine. +1

Solution... Daytona, Tippmann, or maybe a P*, but you're stuck running a line in most cases.

Good to know Sequential......i have never seen the inside of a gbb mag.
But i do have a Tippmann, so for now...my problem is solved, until i want to go to an AK platform. Then im stuck at 45-50 round gbb. Last edited by Caelan; December 6th, 2014 at 22:34.. |

That said, I run low/mid caps in my AEG's so its not too different from my GBBR AK's anyways so mag caps aren't a big issue for me. Tempted to grab a Tippmann myself soon... oh so tempting... Oh and here's a pic of a GBBR mag, definitely not a lot of room with the gas cylinders. I'm actually surprised they can fit 50 rnds in some mags.

I'm glad that GBBRs are limited in capacity. I'd be happy if nobody ever produced an airsoft mag bigger than real-cap.

What I don't get is why people keep insisting in having mid or high capacity magazine
To me Gbbr isn't only about realism and I'm glad they are limited to 40 rounds Where higher capacity mags available for Gbbr I wouldn't want then. I personally have much more fun in game having to ration my ammo, "count" how many shots I took with a mag or not being sure if I have enough for the next firefight, etc I think this is all part of the airsoft experience, milsim or not To each his own I guess, but at least give it a try a game or two, playing real cap; you might actually end up preferring this like I did :P |

I'm really surprised, for a PROFESSIONAL TRAINING WEAPON, the ptw has a midcap standard.
I'd be happy if they were realcaps, it's all you need. I don't mind AEG's having 70 round lowcaps though, despite having some good guns and good techs out there, most of them still shoot like crap and NEED the extra ammo. |
