Question Puffy Lipo Bats

Hey Guys,

I was handed a few 7.4 20c 1000mah small lipo bats to charge, these batteries before where charged by a "potential fake charger". The lipos have quite possibly been used till the aeg's performance would slow down noticeably and left for a few weeks before being charged again.

Compared to another of the same stable lipo battery, the black plastic on the lipo's is puffy and hard when pressing it.

Don't wanna take any chances , safe to charge or are they done for..?

Thanks!

slight puff is ok, it was likely from over drawing at some point. I have a couple packs like that, but they still work fine. When they really start getting puffy is when you should worry. Just keep an eye on it getting any worse. Take the regular precautions of charging in a non flammable container or area and the area is clean of flammable stuff... don't leave them unattended.

A fake charger will charge them just fine, it's just the components in the thing might not be so great. As long as the cell voltage is correct and balanced.

Better safe than sorry. Don't want an $8 lipo burning your gun or house down.
