TM Glock 18c
I've been having this problem recently where i'll go to fire and it'll be like a pew pew instead of a bang bang. When I put the mag in and cock it back it will shoot about 15 feet and make a very weak sound. After I manually cock the gun about 5-10 times then it will start shooting properly, of course when I'm nearly out of bb's. Anyone know the cause of this ? Two of my buddies we're having the same problem this weekend and since I'm the forum guy I was chosen to get help. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, on one of those hot days. My guess is that the high temperature causes the gas pressure to be higher inside the magazine.
I have read that TM glocks have a tendency to light strike the magazine, especially on propane and CERTAINLY when its hot out - since they are designed for duster gas. My advice would be to put in a 150% hammer spring. I have heard that shooters design makes the best one. I am going to use this exact method in the next few days myself |

Interesting. This past weekend wasn't really that hot though but it does make sense now since the magazine was cooling off after letting a couple shots out. What a shame really. I wish I could just buy the pistol I wanted originally (KWA 1911 mark 2 Co2). I love that pistol but ASGI cant send it here and it seems no retailers in Canada have it . :'(

KWA is one of the easiest band to get in Canada
Easier than TM That said, I have no such issues with my TM G18, both with TM and WE mags Just never look at Milsig... I have pretty much upgraded everything though, including hammer spring |

I guess I don't know what the hammer spring actually is or does. I'm assuming something to do with letting the pressure in ?
What's wrong with Milsig ? |

Put simply, the hammer is actuated by a spring and it is the hammer that is striking the valve on your mag
A stronger hammer spring will make the hammer strike with greater force, overcoming the "maybe" too hard valve stiffness and thus making things work properly And yeah, Milsig is waaaay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced |

My god you weren't lying about the price jack. I thought it was Co2 though so I'm not quite sure whats up with that. I still find it hard to believe I'm already having problems with a hammer spring considering it's rarely used, and I say rarely because last weekend was the first time I got to pull it out. Pretty disappointed that a 350 dollar pistol is giving me problems already. Especially when people are buying 100 dollar pistols and they work great every time.

Where/who did you buy it from?
Maybe they can arrange something for you But yes it can be frustrating for sure; unfortunately it is so for any airsoft guns: something will eventually go wrong. Sometimes it's sooner than later. In your case, as it was stated before in this thread (I think?), Marui is mostly made to use lower pressured gas, such as HFC134a, aka Duster Gas. So it is expected to have issues if you don't use it as recommended. The higher pressure of propane will make it harder for the hammer to effectively push on the release valve and it looks like this is your problem You could try with Duster gas and see if it does the same. If you do, make sure it is HFC-134 (it will be written "Tetrafluoroethane" somewhere in the small prints on the can), and NOT HFC-32 ("Difluoromethane"), which will slowly disolve your seals/o-rings You usually find these in computer stores; they are the "canned air" used to blow dust out of computers and keyboards, etc Unfortunately, HFC-134 is less and less used in Duster in favor of the other, bad-for-your-airsoft-gun stuff. OR, just take a gamble and upgrade your hammer spring and all that matters around it. There are good threads in here about what to do and how to do it, and the reference on Glocks would be e-Luder, so find his posts and read away! Good luck |
