Classic Army M249 not firing

I have a fairly new classic army m249, and up until now it has functioned perfectly. The other day while firing, it just stopped, and would not fire or respond in any way. We tried different batteries but the gun just seemed dead. After I got home I pulled out the mech box, pulled the contacts off of the motor, put them back on again, an it worked great for about 100 rounds, then did the same thing. I repeated the wire removal and reattach and it worked again. What could be going on here? The gun hasn't seen more than 1000 rounds.

dirty contacts? try cycling the mechbox outside the gun and see what happens, you may have to crush the connectors a bit.
Otherwise, re-wire the gun end to end, it won't hurt and will improve battery efficiency

The trigger assembly in the grip may not be contacting the microswitch properly. If this is the case you'll generally need to clip off a few mm of the end of the microswitch arm and bend it further downward. This also helps keep it from getting caught by the sector gear. Not sure how prevalent this problem is in CA249s, but in A&Ks it's pretty common.
