Miss feeds: tappet plate/nozzle problem.
Hi!
I have exactly the same problem as this video: Airsoft AEG: Tappet Plate and Air Nozzle Troubleshoot - YouTube I've been looking for the answer for quite a while but I can't find one. I've already tried 3 different magazines but still wont work. I've also installed a delayer chip on sector gear but still no luck. My tappet plate looks solid and not yet broken. Nozzle is also fine. I don't know where else to look. Please help.

1. Try different bbs.
2. Try more mags (all types, hi, mid, lowcaps) 3. Your tappet plate may be flexing upwards rather than pulling back the nozzle. 4. Your hopup rubber may be torn. So, if 1/2 don't fix it, try a new tappet plate (SHS would be good) and hopup rubber (PDI or Lonex). Also: what is not stock? This is a scar right? |

Did the gun ever feed properly? Have you upgraded any parts?

It's been a while since I last fired it (6 years). Never had those issues before.
I'm pretty sure it's not a magazine issue. Because it won't even fire even upside down. I just replaced the hopup rubber, installed 6.02 tight barrel, everything else is upgraded for a SP150 spring. The only thing that is stock is the tappet plate. I thought the original is more rigid than after market ones. If it's the tappet plate, I don't get it why is it flexing upwards? Though I can't see the inside during a cycle, the gearbox has a guide rail (all the way to the sector gear) that should always put it in place. I might be wrong though. As far as I know, the nozzle is not pulling backwards enough to feed a bb. Btw: Here's my setup TM Steyr AUG Systema SP150 CA metal hopup bucking CA Airtight nozzle STU gears Deepfire metal spring guide Deepfire metal half teeth piston Guarder metal cylinder head (Stock) TM type 0 cylinder head (Stock) TM piston head (Stock) TM Tappet plate I haven't played since 2008. I guess it adds to that. I'm still not looking for airtight issues. I still want to solve this misfeeds first.

6yrs? chances are the piston head O-ring has dried and shrank and you're not getting any compression
I'd also replace the CA air nozzle, they're notorious for being garbage! new piston head, new air nozzle, and do a compression test on the mechbox |

Unported piston head, maybe you're sucking the bb backwards with the nozzle causing a second bb to partially feed? Seriously though start with a tappet plate.

Not sure what your sector gear looks like, but you could make the tappet pulling nub larger so it pulls the tappat plate and nozzle further back. Cut and glue a brass tube and glue it around it.

you also didn't have neo motors and 13:1 gearsets with bigass lipos.

lol.. 6 years is pretty long time ago. Next time I know, GBB is in demand now. And all local hobby shops that use to sell branded parts are now selling china brands which I never heard of.
I've already replaced the piston O-ring. I haven't checked if I have any airtight issue as for now. I still have to solve the feeding issue which I'm sure not related to piston O-ring. My piston head was already ported long before they sell ported piston head. The stock TM piston head is far better than those after market ones. Thanks for the replies. Now I have to check the tappet plate. I'm not sure if some kind of glue to thicken that part would do the trick to pull it further.

the ARS piston heads are teh best, and lonex is very good, but hoenstly if you get 100% compression then you already have "the best" piston head lol
Don't reinforce your tappet plate IF NECESSARY, just buy a new one. None of this slap jockey half ass modding BS. If you have no compression, your gun won't fire BB's, which would effectively seem like a feeding issue. Chances are nothing in the feeding chain has changed in 6 years, but what DOES change is rubber dries out and things need to be re-lubed. |

I've already replaced almost everything.
tappet plate, spring, piston O-ring, hop-up rubber, tight barrel, etc. I just replaced my tappet plate. Now I'm suspecting the hop-up rubber I just replaced. The old one has already powdered to pieces so I have no comparison. But 1 thing I noticed is that the lip of the hop up rubber is a bit long? That could block the BB to go in? I'm not sure though. With the amount I've spent bringing this back to a working condition is a pain in the a$$. I don't want to spend extra $$ just bring me to a dead end.

could just be installed the wrong way
Try pushing a bb through the hop unit by hand, you shouldn't encounter much resistance at the lips. If you need to force hard enough to really noticeably feel the bb pop through the lips, they're probably too tight or something is wrong |

I just replaced the nozzle and bought another hopup rubber.. now i'm getting 1 miss feed every 4-6 rounds on semi-auto. Quite improvement but i'm still not happy.
