how to program a baofeng uv-5r
so i recently just newly aquired a baofeng uv-5r for an upcoming game and im really excited, but i noticed that the channels are very different from the normal shitty motorolas, but due to some of my team owning mosty motorola t9500s i need to set my secondary channel so that i can communicate with them. can anyone teach me how to program it so that i can have a similar channel system with the motorola radios?

This video does a good job of explaining how to program the radio (yay google!)
This is a list of the frequencies you need to use. Both Transmit and receive are the same for each channel. Do not use CTCSS or DCS Channel-----Frequency in MHz 1-- 462.5625 2-- 462.5875 3-- 462.6125 4-- 462.6375 5-- 462.6625 6-- 462.6875 7-- 462.7125 8-- 467.5625 9-- 467.5875 10-- 467.6125 11-- 467.6375 12-- 467.6625 13-- 467.6875 14-- 467.7125 15-- 462.550 16-- 462.575 17-- 462.600 18-- 462.625 19-- 462.650 20-- 462.675 21-- 462.700 22-- 462.725

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index..._channel_chart 1) Turn radio on 2)make sure its set to frequency mode 3)print of the list of frequency 4) pick a frequency you want to save ( for example channel 1 on cheap radios everyone uses is 462.5625 mhz) 5) type in the frequency you plan on saving 6) once frequency is typed in hit "menu" button 7)then hit number 27 (This will take you to the spot were you save the frequency to a channel# 8)after you hit 27 hit "menu" again. Now if your saving frequency I showed in the example that frequency is what channel 1 is on cheap radios so I would advise seting that one to channel 1 9) once you found your channel hit "menu" again and you should hear "Receiving memory" when you hear that that hit "menu" again it should now say "Transmitting memory" now hit exit this worked for me so hope it helps There you go you have just manually programed one channel now only ton more to go

Can only end in x.xx5 or x.xx0 / x.xxx5 or x.xxx0
ONLY USE THE FREQUENCIES I LISTED, using anything else is against the law.

I have had transmission issues with mine as well. I'm in the works of trying to reprogram everything over again to see if I can correct the issue.

just curious, is anyone else having this issue that everytime you press 2 at the end of selecting frequency that the baofeng automatically rounds it into a whole number like
turning a 62 to 60? and i cant seem to access the 4th digit for some reason i also set errything to the right channel but forsome reason my motorola wont pick up the frequency... why is htat?

1) I was in duplex. Simplex is OK 2) I was using a handsfree - make sure to PUSH IT IN HARD. I thought I had pushed it in initially.. then I pushed it again and it went in 2mm more into the jack. |
