New setup for Field
I already have a pretty decent gear set for CQB, but I have started getting into field more and what I have just doesn't cut it there. I was looking into getting a JG M4 S-System as my primary, with a Co2 1911 I already have as my backup. However, for the gear, what are the best colours for field? I have seen people with black, OD, tan ect. Is it all personal preferance, or is there a colour scheme that seems to be the most common?

OD or tan is pretty universal for gear. Tan/OD goes with most BDU's. When it comes to BDU, choose whatever you like. Digital, analog, or plain OD/tan. If you are going for a specific country/outfit, than do research and get the right stuff.
Just make sure to get quality stuff once you choose what to get. Otherwise you'll just pay twice.

Well, I had figured on this as my kit:
Chest rig: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...ducts_id=11738 Belt: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3647 Dump: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=1840 Holster (On belt): http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3558 Gloves: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6620 Helmet: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...ducts_id=12350 BDU: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...ducts_id=10406 , http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...ducts_id=13201 But, do you really need a helmet for field? |

Helmet/face protection is recommended for night/CQB games but really it's up to you.

Alright. Are sights recommended for field games? I know I never need one in CQB, unless it is dark, but I figure with the increased distance for field, might come in handy. I also wear glasses, but they are a really light prescription.

Again, it's personal preference thing. I own 4x scope but rarely use it, mostly to scout/target ID when playing in wooded areas, otherwise iron sight do just fine for me. If you have money to spend, buy something like Elcan/ACOG (real or repro) and try it out. Worst case scenario you can always sell it.

Alright, thanks I suppose my only other question would be if the Jing Gong M4 S-System has a bad rep, or any horror stories? It looks pretty solid and reliable to me.

Good ole woodland works well and is cheap use it with an od rig and m8x of od and tan pouches
Jg/echo1 guns are good guns for the price. Just buy a good inner barrel and hop up rubber and youll be good to go. I use prometheus smooth rubber with bridge tensioner and madbull python inner barrel

I am currently on an $800 budget for EVERYTHING. That means BDU, gear, gun, upgrades and BBs. I am figuring on tan gear, but I was wondering what people think would be better for field games that include woodland fighting. Multicam, or A-TACs? I am leaning towards A-TACs, simply because it seems to be a general camo

you may want to check with the team you will be associated too before you start gearing-up. They may have color/design restriction

Just go to a game and take a look around at what everyone is wearing. For a heavily wooded area a safe bet would be CADPAT or MARPAT or woodland or DPM. If its a realy heavy vegetation area then ATACS-FG would work. It all depends on your surroundings, like I said have a look around se what the more experienced players are wearing they will know what works for that field. I personally run CADPAT TW and AR with Coyote Brown gear.

Most larger games are usually split into tan vs green at the most basic level (for some milsims, country-based camo is in play so opposing sides might both be in green/tan) so getting a set of each would be beneficial based on your preference in side for the game you're attending
Cadpat, marpat, woodland, flecktarn, a-tacs fg etc all count as green Multicam, Arid cadpat, acu, a-tacs would count as tan and so on For your rig, unless you are going for a specific impression, it's wise to have a mix of OD and CB/tan pouches But if you're a real gearwhore, you'll have multiple rigs with color coordinated pouches lol
